Today, my fiancé told my mom that she screwed me up. I now have to write an apologetic e-mail to her for something that I agree with, in order for her to stop calling me crying. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because she heard me say "love you" on the phone. I was talking to my mom. FML
Today, I learned that if you complain to your mom about your future mother-in-law's bitchiness, your overprotective mom might confront her about it and end up punching her in the face. My fiancée blames me for the incident. FML
Almost right
Today, I told my mom she made me feel unloved my whole life. She called my sister and apologized. FML
Girl power!
Today, I was trying to break up with my boyfriend over text. I was being really careful to phrase it nicely, and I hit send with a sigh of relief. Except I sent the text to my mom, who now keeps sending me unsolicited advice about my "love life" with an occasional "You go, girl!" FML
But mah grandbabiiiiiiiiez
Today, my mother found out that my fiancée broke up with her last boyfriend because she didn't want kids and he did. She's now demanding that I either change her mind, or call things off with her. FML
Open-minded
Today, my mom called me and asked me to fix her computer, three days after saying she never wanted to see me again for dating a boy. I got lectured to on how I'm ruining my life the whole time. FML
Today, I was talking to my mom about how my fiancé has been ignoring me and that I didn't know why. Turns out, my mother told him that I was too much of a handful, was mentally disturbed and also cheating on him. Just so I wouldn't move out and would keep cleaning her house for free. FML
Today, my mom confessed that she has to make up compliments to give to prove me wrong when I said she can never say positive things about me. FML
Today, my psycho and now ex-girlfriend accused me of cheating on her with my own mother. FML
Today, my very drunk mom called me to confess that she was the girl that my boyfriend left me for two years ago. FML

Bullshit. Don't ******* lie to her. If you agree, then turn that e-mail into an eye-opener instead of an apology. Her bawling is unwarranted. If she really did screw you up, then she has no right. Ignore her if she doesn't get it.

You only deserve it because you weren't honest. Instead of lying to your mother to calm her down (which is a very dishonorable thing to do), you should gently explain to her just what your fiance meant, & tell her openly about your feelings about her & the situation. Honesty is always the best policy, & if you lie you will only further this awkward situation.

If the mother really did screw OP up, they have every right to tell her so. OP's fiance just had the balls to do it.

Part of being in a family is learning when to shut up. Yes, they irritate the shit out of you, but you love them so you just let it go. Unless your fiance is a perfectionist. You might want to ask him if he ever made a mistake. Because I'm pretty sure that the last guy who DIDN'T, walked on water and rose from the dead. It might be hard to live with, but it would sure make for some neat party tricks!

Oh I loathe this mentality. It creates barries in the families. My family is open and honest with eachother. We don't go out of our way to hurt eachother, but we do voice concerns, pet peeves, let eachother know when we're hurt or annoyed, etc. And we are consequently one of the closest families I know. Of course, my Mom happens to be unique in that she recognizes parents are capable of being wrong and making mistakes, and wouldn't completely ground us for yelling back, voicing our opinion. Now my husband? His family is completely the reverse, and none of them really "know" the real person that is my husband, or eachother, because they pussy foot dance around each other. I know, that's more normal, I just wish the standard in families was a little different.

Poorly written. Took me a while to figure out WTF happened. And dont be apologetic, be honest with her.

I completely understand. A lot of parents cause emotional damage to their children, but they've done the best the could, and it would break their heart to find out they messed up someone they care so much about. You're fiance was totally in the wrong. You confided in him and he made a mess of things.

This was very poorly worded... how did it even get published? I had to read this 5 times before it finally made sense.

At least she's apologetic, just forgive her and move on.
