Today, my daughter mentioned that she didn't need to work because she could convert a dollar to 13 Mexican pesos and convert it back into "13 USD", over and over again. She's 17. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Genius
Today, I realised I’d raised an idiot when my daughter confidently told me she discovered an infinite money glitch by just using one of her credit cards to pay off her other credit card, then swapping them over every month. This is why she’s 28 and still living in her childhood bedroom. FML
Adjusted for inflation
Today, my 7 year-old daughter was counting all the money she made over the weekend from her lemonade stand. She made sixty dollars and said now she has more money than I do. She's right. FML
Whatever it is, it's not enough
Today, my second-grade daughter asked her teacher how much money she makes. FML
Slashing Prices Left and Right!
Today, I tutored a kid for two hours, for $25 an hour. When it came time for them to pay, my mother told the kid's parents that they could give me ten bucks for the whole thing. She does this a lot. FML
Winning
Today, I found out my fourteen-year-old daughter is making more money than me, thanks to babysitting and winning writing contests. FML
Who's FICA? Why's he getting all my money?
Today, my daughter is mad sulking because she got her first wage today and learned a bunch of new words like national insurance, pension contributions, taxes, automatic student loan repayments, and so on. She actually thought she got to keep ALL the money she earned, and is taking it out on us. FML
Rip off
Today, I learned that my daughter pocketed the money I'd paid so she could go to college. FML
Today, a lady came into my workplace to pay her $120 bill in one dollar bills. I kept losing count. FML
Today, I told my mom I had 73 cents in my checking account. She gave me a penny and told me I had 74 cents and it was even now. Thanks mom. FML
Broke
Today, a lady I know gave my 3 year-old daughter a little coin purse, saying, "Your mum can put some money in that for you." My daughter responded, "But mummy has no money." I would have laughed, had it not been spot on. FML

Did your daughter use to work in Accounting for Enron?

It sounds like she's thinking of arbitrage. But I think she made a mistake somewhere down that train of thought, because she won't earn any money exchanging currency unless she's the one working at the bank.

She's not "thinking of arbitrage". I wouldn't bet she's thinking at all. Clearly she's just stupid.

Maybe switch her to a regular high school instead of home schooling?
engineerosaurus 26
I wouldn't leap to the conclusion she's home-schooled. Economics and finance education in US school curriculum is basically nonexistent. It's done that way deliberately, because the political establishment doesn't want our young folks figuring out how screwed they are.

Honestly that's not always sound advice. I was home schooled and I'm almost done with my civil engineering degree, my younger sister went to public school and managed to graduate having failed algebra twice and never even taking geometry. "extra credit for a passing grade" despite literally never showing up for class

If its your kid, then its your fault.

She's not entirely wrong; there's a whole industry where they just buy and sell currency for profit (essentially from predicting appreciation or depreciation). Of course, it's not nearly as simple as her idea, and you need a lot of money to make it work...

Dammit tell her the circle. 1 = 13. And 13 = 1. That will snap her back to reality. Don't just insult her mentality!!!
ShadowlessSpear 21
If she couldn't figure that out on her own, then any insult anyone could make here wouldn't even scratch the surface of her dumbassery.
