Today, my boyfriend went into great detail over the Tiffany's jewelry he painstakingly selected for his previous girlfriends on their birthday. I got hand towels. In powder blue. From Target. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went into hysterics and started crying when my boyfriend pulled out a Tiffany's box at dinner. Then I found out he'd used the old box to make the $15 earrings he bought seem more "special." FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me lingerie from Victoria's Secret. He then added that his mother picked it out. FML
Broke boy
Today, I went to Tiffany's to exchange a bracelet my boyfriend had given me for our year anniversary. It was the first gift that he actually spent money on me for. The sales lady then told me that the bracelet was not a real Tiffany's item. FML
Who? Where?
Today, my husband bought me a beautiful pair of earrings for my birthday, to match the necklace he'd spent months searching for online the previous year. What necklace? He gave me a watch he found at Walmart last year. I wonder who the lucky girl with the necklace is. FML
Today, my boyfriend decided to gift me soap, a razor, and deodorant for my birthday. FML
Today, my boyfriend bought me a beautiful pair of very expensive diamond earrings, along with a card that read, "To my beautiful brown eyed Princess." My ears aren't pierced, and my eyes are green. FML
Today, I opened some small cute birthday gifts at my boyfriend's house. As we left to go out, he slipped me a Tiffany box and said he wanted me to open it in private. Flushed and excited, I open it to find a Ziploc bag filled with hair. It was thd mustache I'd been begging him to shave for months. FML
Today, for our 2-year anniversary, I bought my girlfriend a beautiful $400 necklace. She bought me a pink $5 shirt of Elton John riding a piano through space. FML
How romantic, Honey!
Today, my boyfriend took me to dinner. There was a beautifully decorated table with rose petals and a huge bouquet and he told me he had ordered all this for me. I'd never felt so special. That is, until I had to get up for the couple whose table it actually was. FML
Thanks…
Today, my boyfriend's mom bought us matching purity rings. FML

On our first Christmas together, my husband gave me a cheese grater. When I asked him why, he said, "You said you needed one. " Did you mention you needed something like that? Cause that's how men think. I need= splendid, fail proof gift.

I personally could care less about jewelery, but this seems to be a clear case of 'He's just not that into you'

I just found this comment through random FML and my boyfriend does the same thing. He tells me all about how romantic he was with previous girlfriends, giving them flowers and covering the bed with flower petals, stuff like that. The most romantic thing he has done for this MAJOR romantic (me) is walked me home. We live in dorms not even 5 minutes from each other. FML. hehe

I would actually dump that one...

To all the guys complaining. I'm a girl and I understand that maybe he regrets spending so much money in previous gifts as a pathetic attempt to buy his former girlfriend's affection, but hand towels are still a crappy, thoughtless gift. Specially after bragging about the fantastic presents he got for other people. He could have bought her a book from an author she liked and it would've been even cheaper and much better than a necklace.

As a guy who's gone through something similar (on the guy end of the submission), when you spend a lot of money on a girl who treats you like shit in the end, you can get pretty jaded about spending on girls... it starts to feel like a waste, even.

I don't think the OP is trying to imply that she deserves expensive gifts from her boyfriend, but you have to admit that it is really rude to tell her all about the great gifts he got for other people if he didn't intend to get her something similar. If he didn't have the money or whatever, he should have just kept his mouth shut.
