Today, I made my boyfriend a beautiful dinner of seafood and rice. This was the first time I could afford lobster, and thought it would be a great treat for us both. I learned that this was the first time he has eaten lobster, and he learned that he is allergic. FML
Today, my family picked a place for my birthday dinner. They chose a seafood restaurant. I'm allergic. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he was going to take me out somewhere special, so I called in sick for work. Turns out he had made reservations for the restaurant I worked at. FML
Today, I went on a blind date with a guy at a seafood restaurant. I explained to him that I am deathly allergic to shrimp. When the waiter took my order, he interrupted me and said, “She’ll have the shrimp," while looking me dead in the eye. FML
Today, I took my boyfriend out to dinner to an expensive restaurant. He overate, and now I have to nurse him through food poisoning. FML
Today, while at a party, my boyfriend threw a temper tantrum. He screamed at me and then gave me the silent treatment. All because I said, "No thank you" to the crab dip he got for me. I'm allergic to shellfish, we've been dating for two years and it's come up before. FML
Today, I went out to eat with a group of couples and my boyfriend. All my friends boyfriends paid for them. Mine didn't, and said that I should order off the diet menu. FML
Today, I went on a date with a guy I met online. He took me to a restaurant where I was allergic to practically everything on the menu. I sneezed five or six times within the first 15 minutes and spent the rest of the lunch awkwardly trying to explain I wasn't allergic to him, just the food and spices floating around us. FML
Today, my family asked where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner. They shot down my every suggestion and decided on sushi. I'm allergic, so the only thing I could eat was a veggie appetizer. Dad said I need to "expand my palate." FML
Today, I spent a good deal of my afternoon preparing a nice dinner for my girlfriend. When I finally served the meal, I proudly presented her with a beautifully arranged plate of salmon. She looked at it and said, “You know I’m allergic to fish, right?” We had cereal for dinner instead. FML

You have no self-esteem and/or he's a cheap bastard if it needs to be mentioned that you can order what you want and he'll pay of it -- that's how a ******* date works! Are you going to get all excited and impressed if he blesses you after you sneeze? It's just a common courtesy. Get three desserts and several piña coladas and daiquiris just to make sure he shells out plenty of clams. Then, throw them up in his car later.

When you're allergic to shellfish, you can't touch it, be around it nor touch others that have consumed it. One cannot exactly just go there on a date while allergic to everything surrounding. I've tried... doesn't work.

My husband is allergic to shellfish (but can eat regular fish) He never had a problem coming with me to a seafood restaurant. We just need to be careful with whats on his plate.

I work at a red lobster they are EXTREMELY sensitive toward allergies. Also, every persons level of allergy is different we have multiple people that work there with seafood allergies, it's not like looking at a crab will kill you. you have to touch or eat it.

So then order steak or chicken and fries or veggies and specifically make it known you are allergic to seafood and get lots of drink also there are desserts (nit cooked with seafood) and dont let anyone touch u or your food until they have washed there hands make sure ur bf take a hot soapy bath n brush his teeth b4 any contact lol just be careful an tell otger to be as well!!!

I hate seafood. when i was younger and my family went there do what I did, order the baked potato. oh an don't let them tell you they don't have bacon bits, cause they are lying!! and eat plenty of those cheese garlic biscuits. other than that, I think it's kinda funny. haha. laugh it off. not EVERYTHING is seafood. there ARE stuff to eat,.

This isn't about whether or not OP likes seafood, she may love it, but she's *allergic*, can't eat it, there's no choice involved in it. Sorry, OP! If it's his favourite, compromise, eat what you can, then take him to your favourite. Seems retarded of him to treat YOU at HIS fave place though lol >.<

You know that when he eats shellfish you can't have any contact with him for a few days (thought you can extend that to say, a month) because his saliva, sweat, and semen now contain the proteins that cause your allergies. Pull that on him next time he tries this shit on you. Well, assuming you haven't already dumped him.
