Today, my boyfriend gave me a $100 gift card for Victoria's Secret. Suspicious, I checked the receipt he'd left in the bag. Turns out he had bought it during the two weeks we were broken up for some other girl who rejected him, so decided to give it to me instead. FML

Today, I found out that my boyfriend wrote 50 dollars on my gift card just to look generous, it's really only worth five. I found this out after I tried to buy an arm full of clothes. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me lingerie from Victoria's Secret. He then added that his mother picked it out. FML
Today, I confronted my boyfriend about his infidelity. I saw him at the mall with another woman at Victoria's Secret, and I took pictures from a distance. When I asked him why he did it, he told me, "If you have $20 to your name and you see a $100 bill on the ground, you're gonna pick it up, right?" FML
Today, my boyfriend and I went to his best friend’s birthday party. He got her red roses, a necklace and $100 Victoria’s Secret Gift Card. This year he forgot my birthday, gave me a hug and told me to leave his apartment because he had homework to do. We’ve been together for two years. FML
Today, I got an email saying the gift I'd ordered for my boyfriend of three years had been sent. I ordered it a couple of days ago because I thought he needed cheering up. I guess he found a better way of doing so himself; he broke up with me yesterday. FML
Today, I bought something special at Victoria's Secret, then sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic for 2 hours to get to my boyfriend's house. When I got there, he broke up with me. We're 37 years old and he actually gave me the "it's not you, it's me" speech. FML
Today, my girlfriend and I decided to exchange presents for our birthdays. I spent $100 on perfume and Victoria's Secret clothes. She bought me a bag of lifesavers, then asked me to leave because she wanted to take a nap. FML
Today, I caught my boyfriend cheating right after I maxed out my credit card buying him everything on his Christmas list. FML
Today, my girlfriend of 8 months and I broke up. We decided to give back everything we ever bought for each other. I gave her the stuff she bought me and when I asked for my stuff she said she'd sold it and spent the money on herself. FML
Today, I found out that the necklace my boyfriend gave me for my birthday was actually a gift he'd given to his ex-girlfriend. FML

Im really disgusted by a lot of the female replies on here. First off, OP, that's what you get for being suspicious and nosey. Why can't your boyfriend give you a gift without there being some sort of problem with it? If you're willing to work things out with him, than some trust needs to be established. Do you know for a fact that the gift card was bought for another girl? Or, are you just jumping to conclusion? And ladies, just because something happens in your relationship, doesn't mean you should find a new guy. No wonder men think we're all crazy.

Okay, first off: you are jumping to conclusions yourself. How do you know if OP just assumed he bought the giftcard for another woman? Maybe she confronted her boyfriend and he fessed up and told her what happened. So shut the **** up and look at your options. Second, their relationship was obviously rocky, and they had broken up before, so of COURSE she is going to have a little doubt. Sure, they probably shouldn't be together if they've already been separated before, but who doesn't break up and go back to their ex from time to time? Don't tell me you're a poster-perfect child. Thirdly, if she was so surprised about the giftcard, either her boyfriend never buys her things and of course she would be skeptical, or he always buys her things, when there are issues. Seriously, lay your options out on the table instead of just blurting out random shit out your ass.

If you would read, I never stated that OP jumped to conclusions, I ASKED if she knew whether or not what she stated was true. Second off, I said trust needs to be ESTABLISHED, not that she needs to have it right off the bat. If your willing to work something out with someone, than you should be willing to change as well. And, no one is perfect nor did I ever say I was, so **** off k? And lastly, for someone claiming I was jumping to conclusions you sure had many assumptions in your own comment. To name just a small few, you assumed that OP never got gifts from her boyfriend. Where in the FML did it say that? Also, you suggested that maybe OPs boyfriend buys her gifts when things are going wrong. I never saw that in the FML either. You assume EVERYONE goes back to their ex, and while that may be true for some it's not true for others. Could what all you have said been true? Sure. Then again, your assumptions can be all wrong. Ok, so if we take at face value that he got this 100$ card for some other girl and u just happen to figure this all out from a receipt: u still scored a free 100$ gift card to the best/most expensive underwear store ever, and whilst it won't get u more than say a pair of bras or so u still made out on top...
