Today, my boyfriend came over with a broken engraved bracelet that I paid 50 dollars for. I was angry but when I stated, "I'm going to call them and get a new one!" my boyfriend said back to me, "No it's okay, I didn't really like it anyways." It was for our two year anniversary. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Empty gesture
Today, my boyfriend bought me an engagement ring. It turned out to be the wrong size and we had to return it, since the store said it couldn't be re-sized. As we headed home, I felt guilty, so I turned to him and apologized. His response? "It's OK honey, I didn't really want to marry you that much anyway." FML
Broke boy
Today, I went to Tiffany's to exchange a bracelet my boyfriend had given me for our year anniversary. It was the first gift that he actually spent money on me for. The sales lady then told me that the bracelet was not a real Tiffany's item. FML
For better, for worse
Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping for an engagement ring. We ended up breaking up in the process. FML
Today, I bought my girlfriend a very expensive necklace. I gave it to her thinking she'd be extremely happy. Instead she was mad at me because my gift for our anniversary was better than hers. FML
Today, as a 1 year anniversary present, my boyfriend let me see and wear my engagement ring. He then made me give it back at the end of the day. FML
Deity business
Today, my boyfriend of 3 years donated his promise ring at the temple for it to be used to construct the idol's feet. The problem is that I made that ring for him from scratch and he didn’t even have it for 2 months. He was excited when he told me, and doesn’t understand why I’m upset. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend wrote 50 dollars on my gift card just to look generous, it's really only worth five. I found this out after I tried to buy an arm full of clothes. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he'd drive me to the jeweler's to pick out a ring. We drove there, I picked the ring, and the sales person rang it up. I glanced at my boyfriend, only for him to reply, "Well don't look at me!" FML
Today, my boyfriend of 2 years took me to get a tattoo done with his name on. He paid for it. After it was done he told me it was over between us and he thought it'd be a nice reminder of him for me. FML
Today, I went into hysterics and started crying when my boyfriend pulled out a Tiffany's box at dinner. Then I found out he'd used the old box to make the $15 earrings he bought seem more "special." FML

Some guys aren't into wearing bracelets and such. You should already know by now what he likes and doesn't like.

OP, you gave him something you would like instead of something he would like and are upset that he doesn't want you to get it fixed because it is something he doesn't like? Get the picture yet? Here, let me clear it up for you: You are a self-absorbed bitch.

Aw, I'm sorry. when I first read this I took it two different ways in regards to what he said. (1) he could have harmlessly said it, trying to save you your time, or (2) he was being ungrateful to the fact you got him anything at all. Maybe if you're still in the gift-giving mood you could buy him something else? good luck(:

Bracelets don't make good man-gifts, unless it's a medical ID. They aren't easily hidden, either. If you *had* to go with jewelry, a watch or a ring, or even a moneyclip would've been a better choice. Take it back and complain about the quality. If you say you don't want the same shoddy bracelet again, maybe they'll let you pick something he'd like better as a replacement.

I can understand you'd be a little hurt. It sucks when someone doesn't like a gift you put thought into. But $50 isn't much for a piece of jewelry, especially an engraved one. My husband wanted a bracelet for a birthday and the cheapest one I saw was about $400. Men's jewelry tends to be heavier. And unless it was a medical bracelet, engraving is usually not the way to go. I'm dying to see how this bracelet looked. I would never be surprised at $50 jewelry breaking. All that is beside the point however. You can't expect him to love it just because it was an anniversary present. That's unfair to him. He wore it as a testament of his feelings for you and is comfortable enough in your relationship to be honest without being offensive. Be happy that your bf is that considerate.

or maybe he didn't want OP to feel bad that the bracelet broke?

Next gift idea, your name tattooed across his forehead. Because people that get tattooes of each other never break up.
