Today, my boyfriend came over with a broken engraved bracelet that I paid 50 dollars for. I was angry but when I stated, "I'm going to call them and get a new one!" my boyfriend said back to me, "No it's okay, I didn't really like it anyways." It was for our two year anniversary. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Empty gesture
Today, my boyfriend bought me an engagement ring. It turned out to be the wrong size and we had to return it, since the store said it couldn't be re-sized. As we headed home, I felt guilty, so I turned to him and apologized. His response? "It's OK honey, I didn't really want to marry you that much anyway." FML
Broke boy
Today, I went to Tiffany's to exchange a bracelet my boyfriend had given me for our year anniversary. It was the first gift that he actually spent money on me for. The sales lady then told me that the bracelet was not a real Tiffany's item. FML
For better, for worse
Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping for an engagement ring. We ended up breaking up in the process. FML
Today, I bought my girlfriend a very expensive necklace. I gave it to her thinking she'd be extremely happy. Instead she was mad at me because my gift for our anniversary was better than hers. FML
Today, as a 1 year anniversary present, my boyfriend let me see and wear my engagement ring. He then made me give it back at the end of the day. FML
Deity business
Today, my boyfriend of 3 years donated his promise ring at the temple for it to be used to construct the idol's feet. The problem is that I made that ring for him from scratch and he didn’t even have it for 2 months. He was excited when he told me, and doesn’t understand why I’m upset. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend wrote 50 dollars on my gift card just to look generous, it's really only worth five. I found this out after I tried to buy an arm full of clothes. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he'd drive me to the jeweler's to pick out a ring. We drove there, I picked the ring, and the sales person rang it up. I glanced at my boyfriend, only for him to reply, "Well don't look at me!" FML
Today, my boyfriend of 2 years took me to get a tattoo done with his name on. He paid for it. After it was done he told me it was over between us and he thought it'd be a nice reminder of him for me. FML
Today, I went into hysterics and started crying when my boyfriend pulled out a Tiffany's box at dinner. Then I found out he'd used the old box to make the $15 earrings he bought seem more "special." FML

Some guys aren't into wearing bracelets and such. You should already know by now what he likes and doesn't like.

An xbox 360 game, like Black OPS, costs more than that 2 year anniversary present. That's pretty sad for you to spend that little on the gift.

Is it really the price of a gift that matters?? How much exactly are you expected to spend on your significant other over the years?? In the end is it not better that you buy something that suits their taste and makes them happy regardless of a price tag?? A few materialistic people here in this crowd I do believe :/

maybe he's the one that broke it.

Ignore everyone on here because they are idiots. A bracelet for a guy is not a bad thing. I have actually considered buying my boyfriend an ID bracelet several times. My dad got one from a girlfriend from high school (he's 42 now) and still has it. It's a good idea. Spendig $50 on a present isn't bad either. The time you two spend together is more important than the money you spend. Seriously...it's ridiculous how people are making over how "little" you spent. You shouldn't have to break the bank like that. Talk about materialistic. Honestly, I can't even remember if me and my boyfriend exchanged gifts for our 2 year anniversary. I'm pretty sure instead we just spent the day together and went to a baseball game and the mall. Therefore, you can have a great anniversary without spending $100+ on gifts. Sorry he sounded so mean. Maybe he didn't realize the way it sounded. Either way, I hope everything works out!

that is really rude of him, but helpful hint, guys aren't usually big on jewelry like that.

I have to say that if it was for a two year anniversary, it seems that you should have been aware that maybe that's not the kind of gift he would have wanted. Maybe your heart was in the right place, but you bought something that you would like not something that he would like. In the end, he sounds like he wanted to save you the money of replacing it since it wasn't really his cup of tea, even if he was a little blunt about it.

Well personally if I got a present I didn't like for my two year anniversary, I wouldn't be happy. Firstly, OP you didn't even know what he liked? Or you did, but you bought things you liked for him? Secondly, he didn't complain, he kept it, sounds like a pretty good boyfriend to me actually. Plus, he's being honest with you. And saving you money, since you're so worked up about the whole 50 dollars thing.
