Today, my boyfriend came home from being deployed for the past 3 months. As soon as he gets out of the car, he walks right past me and goes to hug his dog. FML

Today, my boyfriend got done with Marine combat training. The first thing he asked for weren't pictures of me but pictures of his car. Missed you too babe. FML
Today, I walked into my apartment happy to see my dog. Instead of running to greet me, he ran straight past me to jump into the arms of my roommate, who had just walked in behind me. He wagged his tail like crazy while I stood there, rejected. FML
Today, my fiancé left for a 6-month deployment overseas. I waved him away, came back inside alone, and cried. I know this is what I signed up for, but the cat could've shown more sympathy than staring at me and walking away. FML
Today, after patiently waiting to see my boyfriend for a month because he was overseas, I excitedly went to the airport to finally pick him up, only for him to walk straight past me to greet his friends. He didn't even bring back anything for me, but brought back a suitcase full of goodies for his friends. FML
Today, I came home from a two-week overseas business trip. My wife was at work, but she came home for lunch. When she came in, she brushed right past me to hug and talk to her dog. When I mentioned it, she said, "But I haven't seen him all day!" FML
Today, I realized my boyfriend's dog is more excited to see me than he is. FML
Today, I got back from a six month deployment overseas. My girlfriend of three years couldn't pick me up from the airport because she had an intramural softball game to go to. FML
Today, for the third time, my boyfriend called his dog by my name. FML
Today, after months of planning the perfect night with my brother, who was coming home for two weeks from the military, he cancelled because he "missed his dog". FML
Today, my boyfriend returned from a 2-month internship in New York. As I saw him exit the plane, I imagined him running to me and kissing/spinning me around passionately like in movies. He got closer and closer, and as I opened my arms to embrace him, he runs past me saying, "BRB, I GOTTA TAKE A SHIT." FML

considering that you knew where he was, he didn't just walk out of your life for months with out you knowing why, where, or how long. A dog has no idea when his person walks out of his life for months. Then when he finally comes back... its only right to hug the dog first. Or meet your guy at the air port or something!

Quite agree! I know I usually spend time greeting my animals first. But, I still marked FYL because sometimes guys do things like that without even realizing it hurts your feelings, but don't look too hard into it.

Well, maybe he's had his dog for 12 years and you for 12 weeks. I'd hug my dog first. Think of it this way, it's like hugging your kids before you hug your wife. In this case, his dog is his kid.

Indeed. I see my boyfriend every 3 months since we have a long distance relationship, it's doable without making a huge scene. And people who go 'FML I didn't see my bf the whole day' or 'FML I only see him on weekends' need to shut it.

Also the fact dogs are damn cute when they aint seen you for ages, like wagging their tail and looking really excited, I doubt the OP was able to do that and her boyfriend just couldn't resist hugging the dog :D
