Today, my AP teacher once again accused me of plagiarism. Apparently the words "demise," "ultimately," and "rural," are too sophisticated for an 11th grade AP student to use and MUST have been copied from the Internet. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I turned in an overdue English assignment at college. My instructor accused me of plagiarism, writing that my sentence structure was "TO" good. Seriously? FML
Today, I got cited for "internet plagiarism" and called to the dean's office. I'd been sitting a closed-book written exam, and my teacher had been breathing down my neck the whole time. FML
Today, at school, I got in trouble for plagiarizing on a paper. The subject of said paper was where I see myself in ten years. FML
Today, my teacher called a friend and me out of class and told us we had been reported for plagiarism because our answers to a problem were nearly identical, and he said that I shouldn't have shared my work. This for an assignment where significant marks were awarded for collaborating with peers. FML
Not how it works...
Today, my classmate told me she can copy an article from the internet and hand that in, as long as she cites it at the end. FML
Do your own research
Today, I got yelled at for 10 minutes by my head of department for failing one of my students for plagiarism, because, "we can't be sure." It was my work he plagiarised, but because it's not in our system, it doesn't count. FML
Occam's razor
Today, I got an A+ on a writing assignment. My teacher asked me three times if I really did write this article myself, and didn't memorise an article from the Internet. FML
Quite the accusation
Today, I got a paper back that was given a zero for suspected plagiarism. Everything I wrote was my own thought and analysis. My instructor basically thinks my paper is smarter than I am. He won't listen, even when I explain my thought processes throughout the piece. FML
Notebooks out, plagiarists!
Today, I collected my students' final essays. One of them submitted a printout of a screenshot he took with his phone. Too bad a browser address bar was still in the shot, along with a "click to read more" link at the bottom. My students are too dumb and lazy to even plagiarize properly. FML
There's always someone with a big nose who knows
Today, I failed an assignment because the person I paid to do it plagiarized the entire thing. FML

Ultimately, your rural demise is imminent.

Jokes on them; if you're telling the truth then you're clearly more intelligent than they think you could be, good for you!

I know it's a bit late in the year for this to help now, but for the future (including in college): when you have a teacher pull stuff like that, you need to go to the counselor or principal (or, in college, the department head) and make an appeal. In high school, you can ask to be transferred to another class, though you may lose your AP status if you do that. I wish I could tell you this stuff stops in college, but it doesn't. I know several people who were in their early comp classes who had TAs pull that crap. (However, if you're in AP classes and score well on the tests, you should be able to skip those lower level classes.) Oh, and AP classes DO matter. The AP tests matter even more. The person saying they don't either didn't do well in class or on the tests, didn't take the tests, or had went to an unaccredited school. I was able to skip several college classes because of my high AP test scores.

YDI for taking an AP class. Whats 11th grade? APUSH? JK, FYL. My AP Euro teacher doesn't have much hope in my intelligence. Ultimately, the demise of us as students is in the rural , imminent future. Ha.

Junior year... I'm guessing AP English Lang? Your teacher is an idiot if he thinks two syllable words are sophisticated. Luckily, AP English Lang is one of the exams where having a great teacher isn't absolutely necessary. Although thinking about it, when was this FML created? AP exams were the first two weeks of May... APUSH and AP Art History. Ugh... Glad junior year APs are over. Looking forward to AP Physics, AP Chem, AP English Lit., and AP US Gov. next year (not really).

Ha. that's funny. ironically I've got the opposite problem. the one time I actually plagiarized in English, my teacher told me itwas waaaay below her expectations.
