Today, my 6-year-old nephew opened his Christmas gift. The first words out of his mouth were, "This is cheap." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Boxing
Today, I gave my nephew a toy car as a gift. He opened it, looked at it for two seconds, and then spent the next hour playing with the cardboard box it came in. Apparently, I could’ve saved $20 and just bought him a box. FML
Today, it was my brother's birthday. I was short on money but got him a present anyway. After opening it, he looked at it and said, "I didn't really want this." FML
Today, the first gift I opened was from my uncle. It was $80 in clothes that I'd bought for myself a week earlier. FML
Today, my son turned 8. We watched as he unwrapped a $55 Nerf gun, extra 'bullets', new shoes and a school bag with his favorite TV character on the front and a action figure inside. As he finished he looked me straight in the eyes and says, "That's great ma, but seriously what'd you get me?". FML
Today, my son told me the Christmas letter he wrote to Santa was a joke and he didn't want the stuff he asked for. I already bought everything. FML
Birthday boy
Today, I carefully wrapped my nephew's birthday present so it would look perfect. He thanked me, pushed it aside, and spent the next two hours pretending the empty cardboard box was a spaceship. FML
Today, I finally bought the toy my two year-old son always wanted. He would always tap on the TV when the commercial for it would appear. I gave him the gift, and he started playing with the bag it came in. FML
Cats are the same
Today, my son was playing with a piece of plastic wrapping and trying not to let it fall to the floor as if it were a balloon. This is after he got some kick ass gifts for Christmas. Kids. FML
Today, I opened my Christmas presents with my husband. One of the things he got me was a ball gag. "Yeah," he said with a grin, "That one's more for me but I didn't wanna buy myself headphones." Cue our son asking me what it was. FML
Today, I was on the phone with my friend, when my four year old nephew came in, asking who I was talking to. I told him it was Santa Claus, so he insisted on talking to him. I handed over the phone and I hear, "Santa is fake. Grow up." I spent the next two hours with a screaming child proving Santa exists. FML

You know what else is cheaper? No gift at all. See how much he likes that.

I'd take it back and say " ok nothing for you then"

Exactly what I was thinking. I would take it back. He doesn't deserve it.

My niece has done the same thing the with her last two presents. She felt her birthday present (A Canon Sure Shot camera, not the cheap one) was "A little cheap for her 16th" and her Christmas present this year (An iPad mini) was "No big deal" imagine her suprise when they went to leave the house and her gift was missing. It's now in the hands of our neighbor's son (the neighbor that was laid off when the company he worked for went under) and he can't stop thanking us. Guess what the next present our niece will get from us will be... NOTHING. I suggest you do the same.

All my respect to you, both for not letting her get away with her behaviour and for making your neighbour's Christmas!

I would b ecstatic if my neighbour did that for me.. If go out and get him a present, maybe not of similar value cuz ur neighbour just got laid off like u said.. But I would make the effort at least

Wow you are a very kind and brave person. Most people would take it for themselves. All respect to you! :|

Good for you! If more people did this, we wouldn't have so many ungrateful, spoiled brats!

I like what you did. I bet your neighbor really appreciated the ipad. I wouldn't give her anything anymore.

Hats off to you.

Not necessarily. Kids aren't known for their tact or word choice. He could have meant any number of things by it.

That's when you match his "This is cheap" with a "This is Sparta" and front kick the little ******. Damn ingrate.

Say, "No, I overpaid a lot for this piece of shit to make it look like I care."

first I'd kick your brother/sister in the ass... then take away the gift and tell him, well this is nothing.
