Today, my 3-year-old daughter asked me to carry her from the car to the house. I asked her for 3 kisses and a hug in return. She said she'd rather walk instead. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my 3-year-old daughter ran with arms wide open towards me, smiling, only to pass me by and hug the gardener instead. FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend for a kiss, and in response, she suggested that we settle for a hand hug. FML
Daddy's girl, heartless father
Today, my daughter asked me to hug her and tell her I love her, like I "always used to", because she “misses it.” She’s 25 years-old and acts like a little baby. FML
Today, I went to pick up my daughter from preschool. When I got there, I ran to give her a hug. She screamed and ran away. FML
Mother of the year
Today, my daughter asked me if I could have the kids overnight, even though I’d babysat all day, all because she just got home and was too tired to make the drive to pick them up. She only lives two minutes away. I can see her house from my bathroom window. FML
Ghost Shoes
Today, my 3-year-old daughter has been crying non-stop for an hour because she wants to take off her black shoes. She's not wearing any. FML
Bat out of Hell
Today, my kid threw a fit on our way home, wanting me to stop and call grandma. Why? Because she was convinced I was going to wreck the car, and grandma is a good driver who won't crash. When we got home, she stopped fussing, said, "Thank god, we're home," ran up to grandpa and said, "Mom's a scary driver." She's 3. FML
Daddy's girl
Today, yet again, my 3 year-old daughter came home from a few hours with her father, screams and cries over everything, and when she realizes it won't get her anywhere, screams at me that she hates me and that she wants to go home. I calmly told her she is home, and she screamed, "This is not home!" FML
Today, my son trained his little sister to walk up to strangers and whimper: "My mommy punches me." FML
Today, I told my 3 year old daughter to behave or I'd spank her. She looked right at me and said "Bring it." FML

In her defence, 3 kisses and a hug sounds like too much work..

Damn inflation. I remember being able to ride on my dad's shoulders for hours for 1 hug.

More work than walking?

Also in her defense that everybody gets embarrassed if they have to kiss their mothers in public.

She's three years old though, I don't think it'd really matter

It's unfortunate she's already embarrassed by her parents. It only gets worse from there.

Your means of haggling are inferior! :) Sounds like she knows what makes it worth the while.

Awh that's so cute! At least she won't be kissing no boys in the future, OP

What makes you think this has anything to do with her kissing boys..?

Depends how far they'll carry her.

Ouch.. It's okay, OP. Sometimes kids just like to act out. I was the same way, but I still love my parents dearly.

#6 Refusing to kiss and hug someone isn't acting out. It's not something a kid 'should' do or be pressured to do, like kissing their grandparents goodbye. Not if you want to raise a kid that knows what giving consent really means.

Next time, you need to take a different negotiation approach.

She only has so many kisses to give. Geez. That's what happens when you price gouge.

Smart girl - she doesn't negotiate with terrorists.

3 kisses? I'll do 1 kiss, and the hug is pushing my limits.
