Today, it was my wedding day. When my soon-to-be-husband was saying his vows, he didn't say my name. He said his mother's. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

Nerves make us do stupid things. I completely forgot my vows in the heat of the moment. We still laugh about it 22 years later.

If I were in that situation, I'd probably just laugh uncontrollably for a few minutes, and then forget about it...

Talk about a freudian slip.

When you say one thing but mean your mother. Or in this case, the other way around.

Well atleast he didn't say and ex gfs name or some other woman's name, and im sure it was probably and accident

he was most likely thinking about too many things and said the name that just ran through his head.

Similar names?

He really wants to marry his mother, but you are the socially acceptable alternative. Yay, you!!! His dad ought to be nervous, though, if he knows about that Oedipus Rex thing.

Agreed get over it or let it reck your marriage.

Your profile pic scares me. Lol.

All boys go through it, according to Freud anyway.

Are you the same OP that gets constantly mistaken for her boyfriend's mom?

Wow! That's kinda an awkward moment! If it were me I'd look at him weird and think about whether or not i'd give him sex during the honeymoon or ask for an annulment. Good luck and congrats!
