Today, it was beautiful out. I decided to play guitar at the park near my house. I left my guitar case open, asking not for money but for feedback. I got two pieces of paper with feedback: 1) You're fat. 2) Get a life. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was playing guitar on the sidewalk and had my guitar case open for tips. A man came up with a folded piece of green paper, smiled and walked away. After I was finished, I looked at my tips. I unfolded the paper, it was a note that said "You suck!" FML
Today, I spent hours playing my guitar and singing in the street, hoping to make some extra cash. About 3 hours in, I realized some punk had been walking around with a hat taking money as if he was with me. FML
Today, I came across a street musician. He looked extremely well-fed already, but his music was pretty good, so I gave him some spare change. As soon as I turned away, he started screaming at me for being "cheap", and chased me half a block before running out of breath. FML
Today, I learned how to play "Happy Birthday" on the guitar, just to have my friend tell me that my voice sucks, and that I needed to stop immediately. FML
Today, I was told by my neighbors that my guitar playing sounded a dying cat. FML
Today, I was playing my guitar and singing on the street corner. I did earn money, when some guy threw a quarter out of his car window for me. It hit me in the face. I now have a circle shaped bruise under my eye. FML
Today, I was walking down the street with my acoustic guitar on my back. I saw a girl that I like coming down the opposite way, so I decided to play my guitar to try and impress her. I started to tune it quickly, but while I wasn't paying attention, I ran into a pole. Now my guitar is cracked. FML
Today, after practicing a song for my girlfriend on guitar all day, I called her over to my house to show it to her. After a long speech about how "this is for you," I played for about 3 seconds before I broke a string, which slapped her in her face. FML
Today, I was playing guitar at a party, and girls were into me. I'm alright at guitar but by no means an expert. Some kid who was practically a wizard took a turn playing. He could play almost any song on the fly. He made me look so bad that I've never had so many girls in one room be embarrassed to have talked to me. FML
Today, I went into a music store to look into getting a new guitar. I picked up one that I was interested in and tried it out quietly. A sales representative approached me and asked me to "stop the noise and leave the guitars for serious customers." I've been playing for almost ten years. FML

Well when you ask strangers for "suggestions" it always turn out like that. It's very much possible that you're not fat, and that you're just out to have a good time. Fact is, some people are just so angry about their own life that they rather give you a hard time if you seem to be enjoying it. I also say that even a muscle guy get's called "fat" or have "man boobs." So don't stress out on that part.

Actually, #43, I've been having the worst day of the entire year today... I'm not gonna lie. In fact my day was sooo bad, compared to the legendary couple months that came before it, that I created an account specifically for this site. This is like the first time I've been on here since I heard of it. Yeah, my day was that bad. Don't even get me started. Everything is pissing me off at this point. Even FML is pissing me off! argggg

#44: Ah, sorry to hear it. I'm sure you know not to expect too much sympathy from most people here, but *I* hope your 2009 improves from here. Doesn't sound like it can get much worse. I'd buy ya lunch if I knew where ya were. (Just once, though. I found out recently that I have a new $120/month commitment for the next two years. Yay.)

Well, I guess lose weight and practice more before you decide to play out again. Technically, you asked for criticism and you got it. Next time make sure you specify that you want criticism on your playing ONLY. I hate to say it, but if you want any chance to make it into the music industry, you pretty much have to be in shape and good looking, along with being decent at whatever instrument you play.
