Today, it dawned on me that I've been married for 6 months, but because of the Army I've spent only around 12 days total with my wife. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that instead of being stationed in Afghanistan, my husband of 9 years has been "stationed" at his other girlfriend's house. FML
Just Dependa Things
Today, I came home from a one-year Army deployment, only for my wife to tell me she feels claustrophobic with me in the bed. She then asked for a divorce. FML
Long distance
Today, I'm in my fourth month of training in the US Navy. I'm 3000 miles from home. I joined to give my wife a better life. Since I've been gone, she decided that she liked being single. FML
Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, I learned that the girl I've been seeing for 6 months is actually married. She just dates me when her husband is pissing her off. FML
Today, my family sat me down and told me I was spending way too much time with my boyfriend and not enough time with them. My boyfriend has been away in Iraq for six months and just came home a week ago. FML
Hat Up
Today, my partner was sent 450 miles away by the army, after he had been home for only 22 hours. Yesterday they told him he could come home for two weeks. I guess the British army doesn't want me to be happy. FML
Change of plan?
Today, it's been one year since my husband moved six states away for his job. The plan was for me to stay behind until I found a job, but I still haven't in all this time. I can just feel the distance growing between us. FML
Today, is the 6 month anniversary of my boyfriend and I. Turns out next month he will be celebrating the 3 year anniversary of him and his wife. FML
Catfished
Today, I found out after 6 months in basic training that my wife of 3 years was playing the long game to scam me. She took me for 25k while I was away, then left me for a homeless meth head. I've been "getting divorced" now longer than we had been happily married. FML

Last time I checked, we were free before we were in this war. We actually invaded THEM. Not to say I don't have respect for the troops, but we are fighting in a war that isn't ours. And for my pre-determined response to the people that will ramble on about how they attacked us first: Not one Iraqi has ever killed any of our people on our soil. 9/11 was mainly Saudi Arabians. As for OP, I'm terribly sorry for you. I don't think your life is fuckable, nor do you deserve it at all. You have a wife that loves you enough to stick by you for long periods at a time without seeing you. Be happy you have her, she sounds like a great girl.

So this guy is crazy about me, but we haven't ever been on a date because he went to the marines before he contacted me again. He was supposed to come back in June but it was postponed till August. So I know how that sucks for you. Hopefully things will get better. (I support you for being in the Army, btw)

While not necessarily a YDI, I really can't say FYL. As part of an Army family, my spouse and I have been through loads of separations, he's missed a lot of our kid's life, etc. Ultimately though, being in was a choice, and getting married right before leaving was your choice too. We all do the pity party thing from time to time, but don't get caught up in counting what you're not there for otherwise it become an ugly pissing match and everyone is miserable. Stay safe man.

Some people join for money and some for patriotism. You know what though they still deserve credit for having the balls to join up during time of war and political criticism.

We do more than just kill. FYI for the idiots on here we actually do have humanitarian missions going on right now in South East Asia and part of Africa

Definitely can sympathize; I've been with my fiancee for two years but because of the AF, it's really only been about a year. It's rough but it's possible!

The military rules. I'd rather spend my life in the military overseas than in the States.

Why is everyone assuming that it's him in the Army and not his wife? The post doesn't specify.

I respect that you're in the military, thank you. However, you KNEW what would happen if you married someone when you're in the military, or if you even joined in the first place. It's rough, but you'll make it through just fine. On the bright side, since you guys are married now, she can live with you. You most likely see her more than you used to when you dated her, right?

I can relate too much. My husband and I spent 9 days together as husband and wife during our first year of marriage.

thanks for your service. i know the feeling; my fiance's in the navy, dad's retired marine. **** all these people who are saying you deserve it because you joined the army. its hard, but what you're doing is so important. keep youre head up & just think of how exciting it will be when she runs into you arms! best feeling in the world.
