Today, I went to the emergency room with chest pain. I didn't have a heart attack, but I now have a broken nose after passing out and face-planting in the waiting room. FML

Today, I woke up with chest pain. It hurt just to breathe, but my parents made me go to school anyway. We're now sitting in the emergency room. FML
Today, I went to the hospital emergency room to visit my boyfriend who had badly sliced his leg open. It ended with me being admitted with a possible head trauma, after hitting my head on the wall and floor as I collapsed at the sight of his wound. FML
Today, on my way out to get salt for the driveway, I fell and split my head. I'm now sitting in the ER waiting room. FML
Today, after a trip to the emergency room for severe stomach pain and almost passing out in the shower, I slipped on the wet bathroom floor and broke my two front teeth. FML
Today, I woke up in hospital. Apparently, I fell down the stairs, broke 3 ribs, one toe, and hit my head so much that 12 stitches were needed. I also blacked out for an hour before my husband found me covered in blood. Recovery should take about a month and a half. FML
Today, I was taking a shower. Having epilepsy, I seized, tripped over the edge of the tub, and smashed my face against an open toilet, breaking my nose. FML
Today, I had a cold and was vomiting. I sneezed really hard, smacking my nose onto the toilet seat. I woke up a few minutes later with my nose bleeding, painful, and still stuffy. FML
Today, I got a nosebleed. For 7 hours. I ended up in the ER. FML
Today, I went to the emergency room for busting my lip open, I had to lie and tell them I slipped and fell. In reality I was singing with the soap bottle and slammed it into my lip. FML
Today, I went to see a doctor because I have been feeling of pressure in my chest. After running numerous tests, I was told I was perfectly healthy and had nothing to worry about. I made it as far as the front door before I collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital. FML

Well I don't see how the news is heart breaking.. Probably a bad pun. But he's right it could've actually been a heart attack. At least it's just a broken nose, even though those things hurt like crazy.

I am ok but in a lot of pain. They operated on my nose and I'm now swollen and bruised. As for why I was standing...after waiting for 30 Minutes they called me back and as I was getting out of the chair, instead of standing, I fell forward landing face down. Turns out, I have pneumonia, so the chest pain was from infection, and they believe I passed out because my oxygen level was too low. Thank you for your concern!

I just don't understand why one would pass out just at the thought of a heart attack. Seems to me like the chest pain may have actually had a cause.

46, severe stress can sometimes cause pain that somewhat resembles a heart attack. The increasing stress/fear of suffering a heart attack can also cause a person to just collapse. I've seen it happen before.

Although breaking your nose must be painful, just be grateful that you're not suffering any heart conditions and that you're alive :) you were lucky I think!
