Today, I went to Sunday school for the first time. The priest assured us we could ask him anything, so I did. When class ended the priest pulled me and my mom aside and asked her to stop bringing me to Sunday school until "she learns not to question the bible and accept what she is told." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
He hath returned
Today, my mom gave me the litany of a lifetime for raising a devil child. Why so? She and my daughter who is 7 years-old attended mass, and after the priest told the parable of The Prodigal Son, she raised her hand. The priest approached, asked and put the mic on her, and she said, "Sorry Father, but that story sucks! Its all about favoritism!" FML
Smart kid
Today, after church, my 5-year-old son asked me about God, so I answered his questions in full. We talked about God for over 2 hours. At the end of it all, he pondered for a moment, before saying to me, "That's the stupidest thing I ever heard. You're dumb." FML
Thoughts and prayers
Today, my mom sent me to a counselor she knew "through the church" so that I could get some stressors off my chest. Worst idea ever. This "counselor" invalidated everything I had to say and basically told me to pray the issues away, all while completely ignoring me. FML
Burn the witch!
Today, I told my mom I've been taking yoga lessons, and that it'd be cool if she took some with me. She immediately went on a rant, calling yoga "satanic" and accusing me of trying to get her into "devil worship". Well, that's the last time I try to patch our relationship up. FML
Today, I was asked to leave a church service for laughing at the kids trying to sing. FML
Today, I asked my teacher if he could tutor me for my upcoming exam. He said he'd look into it and let me know later. I later got called to the principal's office because my teacher claimed I'd propositioned him for sex. FML
God is Dead 6: Electric Boogaloo
Today, I finally mustered up the courage to tell my overly-religious parents that I'm an agnostic. They asked me why. As soon as I gave my reasons, my mom called me a "bigot" and hurled a bible at me, and it nailed me in the crotch. She then said, "That's what you get, non-believer." FML
"Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield starts playing…
Today, my mom admitted to me that, when I was a baby, my grandmother kidnapped me and took me to the priest to perform an exorcism, because she swore I was the "spawn of Satan." FML
Today, a parent of one of the students I teach called me to complain that I was teaching her child "lies" and "fairytales". I was teaching them about the Holocaust. FML
Today, my mom asked all the old ladies in her church to pray that I meet "someone special". FML

Welcome to the basis of religion

The problem with religion in a nutshell. At least with science it's acknowledged that information could be proven wrong at a later date instead of saying "the is the answer for now and forever, and if you question it you are a bad person."

Always. Question. Everything. Ask until you're satisfied with the answer. I suggest that you find someone else to be your teacher. There are many fine organizations that promote open communication. Look for a non-denominational Bible study in your area!

I guess I'm lucky with my church/Sunday school cause they actually let us question everything and had good explanations. Honestly, the bible is all about how you interpret it.

Was this a Catholic Church you went to? Unfortunately they usually don't encourage people to study the Bible on their own, only to accept their own interpretation of it, which is taught in Catechism.

I wonder had a Sunday school teacher at my aunt's church spitting mad because I argued with him that Hitler was one of the greatest Germans to live (he was expecting the name of a missionary). I even quoted Harry Potter lol "He did great things. Terrible, but great"

That’s no good. I don’t know what religion you’re in, but in Christianity it is good to study and seek truths. It’s natural to have doubts and questions, and good clergy will help you find answers to your questions (if there is an answer), and will try to help strengthen your faith whether there is an answer or not.
