Today, I went to get new shoes. I'm a pretty tall girl and I have proportional feet. I asked the cute guy who worked there for a size 9.5. He burst into laughter before putting on a shocked face and saying, "Oh wait... You're serious." Goodbye, self esteem. FML

Today, a male employee at a shoe shop helped me try on shoes. Once I found a pair, I went to pay for them. I was telling the cashier about how great of an employee he was when she told me there were no male employees. A guy with a foot fetish helped me find shoes. FML
Today, I went to a mall and got some really awesome shoes. I went home to find out that they are actually women's shoes. I'm a dude. FML
Today, while shopping for a pair of shoes, I saw a pair I really liked lying around, so I sat down to try them on. Then, a man came up to me and pointed out that they were actually his shoes. FML
Today, I went shopping for a new pair of jeans. I was feeling good about the fact that I was going down a waist size until the cashier decided to discuss with me, three co-workers, and the ten other people in line how she didn't even know jeans came in sizes that big. FML
Today, I was trying on some shoes when I felt the heels break underneath me. Not only did they cost two paychecks worth, but as I was leaving I heard the sales girl say that "we really should have a weight limit for who can try on our products." FML
Today, while shopping for a birthday present for my size 0 friend, I picked out a pair of pants for her. When paying, the cashier looked me up and down and said, "Well, you're pretty optimistic aren't you?" FML
Today, a middle-aged woman came into the shoe shop where I work, and asked me to help her put on a pair of boots that were obviously too small. Simultaneously as I knelt down by her feet, she booted me in the face while we tried to get them on. FML
Today, I was working at a shoe store and was helping a dude try on shoes. He looked like trouble and I wanted to finish with him. When he finally picked his shoes, he abruptly stood up and ran out of the store with the shoes on. The cost of them was deducted from my salary. $240. FML
Today, I was at the mall with my friend. A lady came up to us and told my friend that she could be a model. Then the lady looked at me and said, "Oh... Nice shoes." FML
Today, at work, an obese woman insisted she took a size 5 shoe, despite me measuring her at a size 11. Then when the 5 I politely fetched for her didn’t come close to fitting, she told the manager I was fatshaming her. Her feet were ham joints below cankles as thick as my thigh. She stank too. FML

9.5 isn't even a huge size, I know of women with size 11 feet. Honestly, no one notices your feet, don't worry about it!

That guy is just immature and has nothing better to do, so just ignore him. I'm 5'8'' and I've worn a ten in women's since I was 5'5'', AKA 7th grade. I've rarely had trouble finding shoes, I'm sure you'll do fine in the future. Good luck, OP!

Terrible customer service :/ I am pretty tall as well and I have a size 10 feet. If someone laughed in my face, I would've complained to management.

Oh wow. Now I kinda feel like a freak. 9.5 feet and I'm only 5'5". Lol. Just forget him, unless they have a foot fetish or your feet are just plain nasty, nobody's going to particularly care.

Punch him! I'm half a size bigger than you and am sick of the amount of times I've been offered shoes to try that are three sizes too small. Oh and also, buy your shoes online.

He must have been new. It isn't that uncommon for a tall girl to wear a larger than average size and a 9.5 really isn't all that bad. File a complaint with the company about his lack of professionalism and then check the website for the shoes you want. Most shoe stores offer a wider variety of sizes online. Hope you find yours! :)

He laughs at size 9.5? Seriously? I have size 10 and most women I know have something between 9.5 and 11. It's pretty common I think... (But I live in the Netherlands, so what do I know?)

Really? I work at a shoe store and 9.5 is one of the most popular sizes. We get a lot of women asking for size 12! I promise your shoe size is not that big.
