Today, I went on a date with a guy I've been talking to. We ended up at his house around 4 a.m., but as we walked through the front door, his ex-girlfriend was sitting on the couch, apparently waiting for him to get home. They still live together. FML

Today, my date bumped into her ex-husband, who decided to join us for the rest of the dinner. FML
Today, I went on a date for the first time in ages, only to realize that the guy I was seeing chose to take us to a specific restaurant in able to stalk his ex. FML
Today, I went to meet a guy that i had already started to be involved with at a bar. We laughed, kissed and had a great time, until he admitted he was just doing all of this to make his ex-girlfriend jealous. Guess who was waiting for me outside. FML
Today, I went out with my ex-boyfriend on a date. The night consisted of me sitting in the back seat of his friend's truck while they drove around to pick up things for the party they were going to have that same night. After they picked everything up, he asked where I wanted to get dropped off. FML
Today, I was invited out to a date by my ex-boyfriend. He seemed really excited to reconnect and kept holding my hand and complimenting how I looked. Out of nowhere a girl runs up to him screaming. It was his current girlfriend, he was using me to make her jealous. FML
Today, my ex, who I still live with, invited he’s best friend (a drama starter) and his new love interest over for dinner while I was at work. Now I’m outside, waiting for them both to leave. FML
Today, I went on a date with the girl of my dreams. Her boyfriend, who she said she'd broken up with, was at the same restaurant with another girl. She screamed at him for ten minutes, then they started making out, and left together. The girl he was with looked at me and said "Eww", then went to hit on another guy. FML
Today, my date and I went to the movies. After the date, we were both on an instant chat room at our homes. Her personal message displayed "I think I love my ex again." FML
Today, in the middle of our one year anniversary dinner, my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend showed up declaring her love for him. They left together and I had to take the bus home. FML
Today, I went out on a date with an ex-boyfriend who I hadn't seen since college. He took me to a bar, where he was oddly quiet, but drank heavily. When the bartender asked us if we were ok, he replied, "This is my ex-girlfriend. Can you believe she used to be skinny?" FML

As someone who is currently living with my ex boyfriend, maybe I can provide some insight. My ex and I don't have enough money to afford to pay out our lease, so we have to live together until it's over and then go our separate ways. It's not easy by any means, but sometimes coming up with a deposit for a new place and paying out an old lease at the same time isn't feasible.

Why, because he did not force another person into homelessness? Finding a new apartment all of a sudden can be a pain, so letting a person stay in the current arrangement until they can afford/find a new place to live in is the decent thing to do.

I know, but living with your ex, especially if they're dating other people can be extremely painful, you never know what kind of issues lie there. I mean, after a relationship ends, one person can feel a lot better about the breakup than the other, having to watch your ex get over you really isn't something you want to do when you're trying to recover. From what I gather, the guy's ex still cares if she waits for him in the middle of night. I would say, maybe be nice and wait for them not be forced to live together anymore. Plus old feelings could come back, they could suddenly start having sex again, etc ... I have to spend 2 more months living with my ex because I can't afford to move out before, but in the meantime, neither of us are dating, out of respect for each other.

To be fair, it's probably uncomfortable for him too. They are most likely stuck in a lease together and neither has the money available to move out and get a new place.
