Today, I was trying on some shoes when I felt the heels break underneath me. Not only did they cost two paychecks worth, but as I was leaving I heard the sales girl say that "we really should have a weight limit for who can try on our products." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was working at a shoe store and was helping a dude try on shoes. He looked like trouble and I wanted to finish with him. When he finally picked his shoes, he abruptly stood up and ran out of the store with the shoes on. The cost of them was deducted from my salary. $240. FML
The customer is almost always annoying
Today, I was serving an incredibly rude woman at work. The ladder I had used to get her two pairs of shoes came crashing down, and hit my face and neck. She only bought one pair, and ten minutes later returned them after, complaining they were too expensive. FML
Today, I was in a shoe store. I picked up a shoe so I could look at it, but when I put it back on the shelf, the whole shelf fell down, making all the shoes fall to the ground. The people behind the counter started clapping. FML
Whoops
Today, I was trying on clothes in a store that had just screens set up for changing. As I took off the first pair of pants had I tried on, my foot got hooked in the cuff and I fell out in my underwear in front of the whole store. FML
Booted
Today, a middle-aged woman came into the shoe shop where I work, and asked me to help her put on a pair of boots that were obviously too small. Simultaneously as I knelt down by her feet, she booted me in the face while we tried to get them on. FML
Great presentation!
Today, I wore a new pair of heels to an interview. Halfway through, as they were showing me around the production floor, one of my heels snapped. I was forced to finish the interview wobbling on one heel like a drunk flamingo. I wasn’t offered the job, but they did say, “You have great balance.” FML
Pennies From Heaven
Today, I bought some shoes, but pissed off the lady working at the store by returning them 5 minutes later. She yelled at me and ripped my receipt in half, everyone in the store watched as she threw a handful of pennies at my face. FML
Today, while trying on clothes in Macy's, someone decided to throw some shoes over the wall and into my changing stall. I now have a black eye. FML
Today, I went to get new shoes. I'm a pretty tall girl and I have proportional feet. I asked the cute guy who worked there for a size 9.5. He burst into laughter before putting on a shocked face and saying, "Oh wait... You're serious." Goodbye, self esteem. FML
The indignity
Today, I stepped on the scale this morning and it actually shattered beneath my feet. FML

geeze, leave her alone. people can break heels easily without being big. my best friend is 60kg, and really tall, and she broke a pair of heels when we were out the other night. honestly, they can be easy to break, she might not have been a big person. even if she is, some of you arseholes need to shut the **** up, cos theres no way in hell you're perfect, let alone the op. and whats so bad bout trying on something you might not buy? i try on shoes and clothes that are expensive that i dont have an intention of buying, but just want to see what it looks like, and then maybe save up and buy it. plus, two paychecks worth? ever thing maybe she has a part time job whilst at school or uni??! i say complain to the manager, cos that was rude what the girl said. and dw about what some of the idiots on here are saying! :)

Why does the thyroid gland always get mentioned in fat threads? Most people aren't fat because their thyroid doesn't work. They're fat because of unhealthy diet and lifestyle. I'm sorry if you genuinely have a thyroid problem, #92, but just because you have it, it doesn't mean every other fat person does. Mentioning it every time there's a fat thread only helps the fat OP keep blaming their weight issues on something or someone other than themselves.

#49- if she was trying them on, she must have had SOME intention of buying them!

Fake. I am undoubtedly fatter than the OP and have never had single heel simply snap, let alone both as the story suggests. The chances of that are incredibly slim, especially on expensive (presumably well-crafted) shoes.

Also, it's called cheap heels kiddos. A poorly made shoe can break at ANY weight, whereas a decent shoe wouldn't break unless they were strapped to an elephant.

would help if people added there weight to these ones and there height. since a girl at 5 10 can be 160 and not be fat or overweight
letitbe56 0
Heck, 160 is still healthy for a girl of 5'8". If you're 5'10", you can be 175lbs and still have a healthy BMI. And don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're athletic, you can add a few more pounds to this.

i know a girl that weight 180 because she athletic and has a lot of muscle and looks like she 130 only she 5 '6 too

...you break a pair of shoes? And shoes that are worth 2 paychecks (not cheap and flimsy, obvs)? Yeesh. I hope you realized you should lose some weight, sorry to sound mean but it's not healthy.

how did you fit through the door?

Why would you want to buy shoes that are that expensive?!?!?
letitbe56 0
They're pretty? The craftsmanship is better and the materials will last longer? They fit better? All reasons why people buy expensive shoes. Not to mention some people like to wear their wealth so all the world can see...but that's not the only reason. But if you can't afford them, obviously don't do it.

This is fake, even cheap crap heels wont break together, unless you are for some reason trying to balance completely on the heel (which would be really dumbthen you would only have downward pressure and it would be statistically impossibly for the two to have an identically faulty structural integrity that would cause them to break at the same time (and if one broke first then you would be incredibly idiotic for not taking the other off). Also if you break a heel then nine times out of ten you the heel snaps off as it is a problem with how it is attached to the shoe, which is a pretty easy fix and will cost you about $20 to get repaired by an expert who will be able to make it look like nothing happened (surely if you already spent two paychecks for shoes you can't use then you would be willing to shell out $20 to fix them)

I wouldn't have paid. Those must have been some really crappy heels! Also, the whole "if you break it, you buy it" deal isn't real. They can't make you pay for a broken item (esp. if it was an accident!) after inviting you into their store.

Hey- I'm a fat chick and I look bitchin' in heels. I don't know what you guys are all prattling on about. I gain all my weight in my belly and back and my legs, arms and **** are rocking. I man up and wear a baby doll shirt and still get hit on even though I have a BMI that is very unhealthy. Don't put everyone in one category. Yeah, we know we should be exercising more or eating less... but it doesn't come easily to everyone.

I doubt it. The fat seems to be suffocating the 'modesty' & 'reality' parts of your brain, Krispy Kremer.
