Today, I was trying on some shoes when I felt the heels break underneath me. Not only did they cost two paychecks worth, but as I was leaving I heard the sales girl say that "we really should have a weight limit for who can try on our products." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was working at a shoe store and was helping a dude try on shoes. He looked like trouble and I wanted to finish with him. When he finally picked his shoes, he abruptly stood up and ran out of the store with the shoes on. The cost of them was deducted from my salary. $240. FML
The customer is almost always annoying
Today, I was serving an incredibly rude woman at work. The ladder I had used to get her two pairs of shoes came crashing down, and hit my face and neck. She only bought one pair, and ten minutes later returned them after, complaining they were too expensive. FML
Today, I was in a shoe store. I picked up a shoe so I could look at it, but when I put it back on the shelf, the whole shelf fell down, making all the shoes fall to the ground. The people behind the counter started clapping. FML
Whoops
Today, I was trying on clothes in a store that had just screens set up for changing. As I took off the first pair of pants had I tried on, my foot got hooked in the cuff and I fell out in my underwear in front of the whole store. FML
Booted
Today, a middle-aged woman came into the shoe shop where I work, and asked me to help her put on a pair of boots that were obviously too small. Simultaneously as I knelt down by her feet, she booted me in the face while we tried to get them on. FML
Great presentation!
Today, I wore a new pair of heels to an interview. Halfway through, as they were showing me around the production floor, one of my heels snapped. I was forced to finish the interview wobbling on one heel like a drunk flamingo. I wasn’t offered the job, but they did say, “You have great balance.” FML
Pennies From Heaven
Today, I bought some shoes, but pissed off the lady working at the store by returning them 5 minutes later. She yelled at me and ripped my receipt in half, everyone in the store watched as she threw a handful of pennies at my face. FML
Today, while trying on clothes in Macy's, someone decided to throw some shoes over the wall and into my changing stall. I now have a black eye. FML
Today, I went to get new shoes. I'm a pretty tall girl and I have proportional feet. I asked the cute guy who worked there for a size 9.5. He burst into laughter before putting on a shocked face and saying, "Oh wait... You're serious." Goodbye, self esteem. FML
The indignity
Today, I stepped on the scale this morning and it actually shattered beneath my feet. FML

geeze, leave her alone. people can break heels easily without being big. my best friend is 60kg, and really tall, and she broke a pair of heels when we were out the other night. honestly, they can be easy to break, she might not have been a big person. even if she is, some of you arseholes need to shut the **** up, cos theres no way in hell you're perfect, let alone the op. and whats so bad bout trying on something you might not buy? i try on shoes and clothes that are expensive that i dont have an intention of buying, but just want to see what it looks like, and then maybe save up and buy it. plus, two paychecks worth? ever thing maybe she has a part time job whilst at school or uni??! i say complain to the manager, cos that was rude what the girl said. and dw about what some of the idiots on here are saying! :)

Why does the thyroid gland always get mentioned in fat threads? Most people aren't fat because their thyroid doesn't work. They're fat because of unhealthy diet and lifestyle. I'm sorry if you genuinely have a thyroid problem, #92, but just because you have it, it doesn't mean every other fat person does. Mentioning it every time there's a fat thread only helps the fat OP keep blaming their weight issues on something or someone other than themselves.

screw that shit. if a shoe breaks while trying it on that's a defect. you better call up your CC company and dispute those charges

Two paychecks, wtf? Do you make $100 a paycheck or something? Otherwise you shouldn't even be considering those kinds of shoes.

This 'thyroid problem makes you fat' stuff is absolute rubbish. What'll make you fat is an underactive thyroid, meaning you don't have enough thyroid hormone. I recently had a total thyroidectomy, meaning I have NO thyroid and hence NO thyroid hormone, which is much much more severe than an underactive thyroid. I only put on weight for a month before I went on replacement thyroid hormone, which everyone with a thyroid problem will have, which COMPLETELY fixes the problem, as it basically gives you the extra hormones your thyroid can't produce. After I've been on it the weight has pretty much fallen off. My mum has an underactive thyroid, and she has never been fat, and if she was, 'thyroid probelms' would be completely irrelevant, as she takes thyroid hormones every day. My parents are doctors. And I know A LOT about the whole thyroid issue, after having thyroid cancer. Stop using this stupid thyroid excuse.

I take full responsibility for my fattiness. However, when my thyroid was out of whack and I went on medication, I lost a good 20 pounds. No, I'm not saying my thyroid is the reason I'm fat but it did contribute to the overall problem.

Unbelievable, I'm a dude with an athletic build, but if I was fat and was told that, first of all, I would NOT pay for the shoes... and I would beat the shit out of that worker.
