Today, I dropped my car keys down the elevator shaft at my dorm. I had parked my car at a parking meter, and now had no way to get change out of my car. It took six hours for someone to get my keys, and I now have a $75 parking ticket. FML

Today, I went over to get some ice cream. I found a rare parking spot in front of the store, and even had change in my pocket. After feeding the meter, A lady comes up to me and tells me that the meter was free after 8 o'clock. I paid 50 cents for it. I was 50 cents short for my ice cream. FML

Today, I got another parking ticket because I can't afford a parking pass for the school I attend. I now have over $700 in unpaid parking tickets. I have classes all day from Monday-Thursday. I work Friday-Sunday. They recently cut hours at work. Some days I can't afford to feed myself. My mom said, "Figure it out." FML

Today, I had to empty out my coin jar to pay for gas. Trying to be considerate, I only brought quarters, but the cashier refused to take it because they didn't want to count out my $10. I don't know how I'll get to work today. FML

Today, I had to take a taxi to work, because I was pressed for time, and didn't have a ride there. When I got to work, I paid the cab driver, and realized I had spent more money on the cab than I was going to make at work. FML

Hey guys just a little back story I actually have 2 jobs, one in the morning, one in the evening. I just started the evening job and I had to buy some slip resistant shoes to work there, which took a big chunk of the money I was hoping would hold me over until I got paid for my original job. The evening jobs is in Beverly Hills and everyone has to pay for parking. There's a waitlist for the employee parking so I have to pay for parking in some form each time I come in. It's taken the majority of my money this week because I haven't figured out the best areas yet but tips have been helping a lot. Some of my co workers have told me they received multiple tickets because of not being able to move their cars in time, not being able to find a spot, etc.

I always keep an eye out for broken meters to park at. "Not my fault that it won't accept my money".

...you have to pay for parking AT YOUR JOB? They don't provide parking for their employees? You're either missing out on one of your job's perks or they're doing something possibly-illegal. I'd look into that.

OP posted a reply above with further info. There is a wait list for the employee parking lot, so paid parking is required until an opening is available.

& why your employer doesn't have designated parking areas for employees?! definitely fyl for paying parking fees to go to work to be able to park your car.

May not apply, but keep an old parking ticket or envelope of one, and put it under the wiper. I've never done it, but seen it in a movie and wondered if it works myself.
