Today, I had to take a taxi to work, because I was pressed for time, and didn't have a ride there. When I got to work, I paid the cab driver, and realized I had spent more money on the cab than I was going to make at work. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I realized that I spend more money on gas to go to my job than what I get paid. FML
Today, I took a cab ride home from a bar. After a few minutes of horrible driving, I felt sick. The cab driver got so mad she locked me in the car and started driving me to the cops unless I payed her extra. Basically, I paid $120 for a five-minute cab ride. FML
Today, I took a taxi ride with my friends. As we were getting out, I paid the taxi driver. With a grin, he drove away fast. It turns out my friend had already paid. FML
No good deed…
Today, I offered to drive my friends to the airport because their taxi was expensive. We left early and arrived with plenty of time. Then I realized I’d parked in the short-stay car park. I paid more for parking than I would have paid for a taxi. FML
Great story man, but…
Today, I was late for work and took a taxi. The driver told me he tried to commit suicide recently. I listened to him for 20 minutes, sat outside my workplace with the meter off. He charged me £5.80 and my boss gave me a warning for being late. FML
Baby come back
Today, I rode in the cab on the way back to my dorm from the airport. The taxi driver was on the phone and not really paying attention. I paid him and got out of the cab, but he drove away before I could get my luggage out of the trunk. FML
Today, I went to work only to serve one table, make a $9.00 tip, get sent home because it was slow, have the city busses stop running because of weather, and have to pay a $20 cab fare to get home. FML
TW: gross
Today, I was taking a taxi home after drinking too much. I started to feel sick and, not wanting to be charged the cab cleaning fee, threw up into my handbag instead. When we got to my place I then had to fish through my bag for my wallet to pay the driver. FML
Today, I'm so broke that I had to call in sick to work because I couldn't afford to pay my bus fare. FML
Today, I was so broke, I couldn't come up with enough change to pay the parking meter at my job. FML

Look on the bright side; by taking that taxi you saved all the money you would've lost if you were fired for not showing up.

It happens that the stage sets collapse. Rising, streetcar, four hours in the office or the factory, meal, streetcar, four hours of work, meal, sleep and Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday and Saturday according to the same rhythm — this path is easily followed most of the time. But one day the "why" arises and everything begins in that weariness tinged with amazement.-Albert Camus You have just realized the absurdity of existence.

Seeing as they spelled "paid" as "payed", I'm guessing they're not even high school educated, which explains why a cab ride would cost more than their sad salary. YDI for not getting a proper education which would get you a better job

Umm #18, the proper spelling is "payed" in Canada. You've got to realize that not everyone uses American English.

Ah well I didn't see the OP was from Canada. If the spelling case is true, my apologies. But Canada or not, there are too many unnecessary commas in the sentence which could still mean my previous point was true. Now I'm just being a grammar nazi.

I live in Canada and I've always spelled it paid and not payed. No one has ever told me otherwise.

Yah, but then again, you're reprimanding a person you've never met over a website because you know you can make snide remarks and them disappear into the annonymity of the Internet. That makes you both a tool and a coward.

49, doesn't that in turn make you a tool and a coward? Oh crap, that makes me a tool and a coward. FML....

#4, You're comment is unworthy of the #1 spot. Take a look at your grammar and spelling.

So what? You don't do that on regular basis, do you? And you still have job, don't you? Does small salary make your life f***ed? Than go and search for larger, doh!

Maybe the OP didn't take public transport because there isn't any where they live. The bus isn't an option for everyone. There are lots of towns that have no public transport. Lighten up on the OP.

Lol I love the FML's with people ~all of a sudden~ realizing how much they make. "I paid more for my cab than I make at work/A homeless guy is given more than I make at work/etc"
