Today, I was on a date with a guy I really like. Everything went well, and then he wanted to kiss me. As he leaned towards me, I got slightly panicky and ducked out of the way, causing him to headbutt the car behind me. Now we know why I'm still a virgin. FML

Today, I went on a first date, and it was going surprisingly well. As we were saying goodbye, I leaned in for a kiss. Just as our lips were about to meet, a car full of teenagers drove by and one of them yelled, "TONGUE SANDWICH." My date burst out laughing. FML
Today, I sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic for half an hour. The entire time, a man I had gone on a date with and that had gotten very out of hand with, was sitting in the car next to me. I noticed, panicked, and tried to drive off, rear-ending the car in front of me. FML
Today, I went on a date to the movies with this guy I kinda like. When he was driving me home, he asked me to be his girlfriend; I said I couldn’t because it was really bad timing. He kicked me out of the car, called me an asshole, and made me walk home. FML
Today, my date kissed me after our second date. The way he leaned towards my mouth was very romantic. He's pretty tall, so I stretched myself as high as possible to make the kiss as passionate as possible. That's how I ended up belching into his mouth. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I shared our first kiss. When I leaned in on him, he fell over backwards and smashed his head against the floor. FML
Today, I had a first date. We really hit it off and wound up watching movies together and talking late into the night. I ignored a developing migraine all night, then tried to leave hurriedly when it got bad. He stalled me leaving by asking what's wrong. I started vomiting. FML
Today, while on a first date, I leaned in to kiss her, but my lips somehow brushed against her nose instead. I panicked and ended up kissing her forehead like a grandma saying goodbye to a child. FML
Today, as I went to kiss my date goodbye and drive home, he mistakenly rammed his thumb across my eye hard enough to push my contact back into my eye socket. FML
Today, after a great first date, he leaned in to kiss me. I held my breath slightly. This resulted in me breathing out through my nose, blowing a huge snot bubble, which then burst on his face. He looked at me in horror and walked away. FML
Today, I was on a date, everything was charming and fun, so I went in for a kiss. She turned her head at the last second, and I ended up kissing her ear. We both went on to pretend that it didn’t happen, but the silence was deafening. FML

Umm, it's natural if you're like 12. But panicking when you're an adult over a kiss to the point where you injure people isn't natural. OP might need some therapy to deal with their panic attacks so they can live a more normal life.

#13 You don't know how old OP is. What if this was OP's first kiss? Doesn't matter if you're 12 or 20, a first kiss is still a first kiss and it's normal to feel nervous. The way I read it, OP didn't seem ready for that kiss and literally dodged it because of that. I could be wrong.

I mean seriously if he went for their first kiss hard enough to headbutt the car behind her when she dodged, he is kind of an idiot for not making sure she's into something that rough... there again, he may have been so nervous he just wanted to be in and out that quick.

since op moved out of the way, there is a chance he kinda fell over/lost his balance which would result in maybe a headbutt to the car rather than just idk a head tap to the car.

It's not like OP hit him. He just fell into the car. And what 12 year olds are going around kissing people? People can be adults and still nervous about kissing someone, especially for the first time if they like them but maybe aren't ready yet. Not all adults are going around kissing everyone, some haven't at all. If someone hasn't done something before they're going to be nervous, or even if they just really like them.

I understand you may have been really nervous and reacted poorly. I just hope you respected him (and yourself) enough to explain it. It can be hard making yourself vulnerable like that, but if you like him, it's worth it. What's the worst that can happen? He obviously likes you, otherwise he wouldn't have tried to kiss you. If he says no, well you're still in the same place your were if you didn't say anything, but without regret. And the great thing is, once you do it the first time (talking to him about it), it gets easier, less panic inducing. He's probably just as nervous. Practice and pushing ourselves, makes us grow. Plus that way, you don't give him a complex! It's not a hopeless situation. Good luck!
