Today, I was in spanish class, having a debate about the death penalty. When I went to make a point, I meant to say "La pena de muerte", which means "The death penalty". I said, "La pene de muerte". Turns out that means, "The penis of death". FML

Today, I was teaching a class when a student pointed out that I'd used the wrong "your/you're" while writing on the board. FML
Today, I had a presentation in French class. I was so nervous, the first thing I said when I got up there was, "Hola." FML
Today, we had a speaking assessment in Spanish class. When it was my turn, I yawned in the middle of a sentence, said, "Excuse me" and finished my sentence. She took points off because I hesitated and I spoke in English, not Spanish. FML
Today, while reading out loud in front of my entire class and teacher, I learned that I can't pronounce the word 'success'. It came out as 'sex', and when I tried to correct myself more slowly (multiple times), it came out 'sexsex'. FML
Today, after many hours studying a complete course of Spanish, I felt really good. I had accomplished something, something I could really use next week when I fly to Mexico on vacation. Then I found out what I had learned was Spanish as they speak it in Spain, not how they speak it in Latin America. FML
Today, my French teacher set up a role-play scenario to act out in front of the class. During one of my lines, I mispronounced a phrase and called my teacher sexy. FML

That is hilarious and awesome! I wish I could have been there! Once, in Japanese, a classmate was trying to describe an elephant as 'big.' He ended up saying there was big rape. This sort of thing also reminds me of German with night vs. naked, lol.

S'okay. In French today I mixed up the words for slaves and levels. As opposed to saying there are many levels in the catholic church, I said there were many slaves in the catholic church. I go to catholic school!

@12: my best language goof ups are all with Japanese. My favorite would have to be someone saying "let's go eat president bush" instead of "let's go see president bush". That and someone saying he was an airplane instead of sick...

i have another one. someone was saying that her father (as in chichi) has a beard. She ended up saying that her breasts have beards. OP: omg I laughed so much at that one. FYL.

Haha, that's like the time my teacher told us that "sobre" meant "about" and venir meant "to come." It turns out "sobrevenir" means to OVERCOME, but my friend Ria definitely raised her hand and told Mr. K it meant "to be about to come."
