Today, I was home alone and I started to sing Halo by Beyonce. I was starting to get into it and began singing with more passion until the phone rang. It was my neighbor begging me to please shut the hell up. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was alone in the kitchen doing the dishes, and I started singing along to my favorite song when it came on my playlist. However, unbeknownst to me, my neighbors were having a barbecue next door, and they cheered and applauded when I'd finished. I’m never singing again. FML
Today, I was home by myself. I was singing "If I Had A Million Dollars" really loudly since I figured no one could hear me. As I'm really into the song, my neighbor shouts, "If I had a million dollars, I'd give it to you to stop singing" and slams his balcony door shut. FML
Today, I wore noise-canceling headphones while cleaning my apartment. Apparently I'd been singing at the top of my lungs for nearly an hour, because my neighbor knocked on my door just to ask if everything was OK. FML
Today, there was a knock on my apartment door. It was the man from next-door, who sarcastically asked if I was alright, because he said he heard me screaming in agony. I was singing. FML
Today, I was singing in the shower and my neighbor called the police because they thought I was in trouble. FML
Today, I was singing in the shower, not realising the window was open. When I got out, the neighbours were at the front door, loudly arguing with my mother. They were complaining about my awful singing. FML
Today, I thought I was home alone, so I started singing to my cat. After a half hour of this, I finally stopped. Then I heard applauding. I turned around to find my parents standing in my doorway. FML
Today, I was sitting at my computer, listening and singing along to some music. I started singing louder, thinking that I was pretty good. Just then, my mom comes barging through the door in a frenzy saying, "Are you all right? Are you hurt?" FML
Today, I was listening to music with headphones in my usually quiet class. At one point I really got into the song so I just quietly sang along because why not. Turns out by the end of the song I was singing at full volume, almost yelling, and my friend stopped me to say that. The entire back row was laughing. FML
Today, I was singing while unloading my dishwasher. I heard a knock on the door and went to answer it only to find the police telling me they received noise complaints from my neighbors. I live next-door to my parents. FML

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH STUPID METALHEADS HATING ON EVERYTHING THAT IS POPULAR? JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING ISN'T YOUR TASTE, DOESN'T. MEAN. IT'S. BAD. I listen to rock and when I hear fellow fans telling others that anything other than rock is crap, I just want to slam their faces into a brick wall. IT PISSES ME OFF. Point is: everyone's got their musical tastes. If you don't like what someone else likes, suck it up and move on. Don't criticise them because people are just gonna think your a retard.

If there aren't any damn instruments, it's not music. Everything else is up to preference. I personally enjoy harder rock and metal, but I will also enjoy other genres like jazz, blues, acoustic, country, or even older stuff like ragtime, classical, or gospel style music. But if there's no skill being put into the music, why listen to it? It's like going to a museum full of paintings of foods, but if you ask the painter they tell you that they made the "painting" by taking a picture of the meals. It's just not a painting. Same applies to "music" using nothing but synthetic instruments, and vocals with layers of auto-tune to make up for the vocalist's lack of skill.

Because screaming nonstop in your ear is much better than listening to someone actually sing (in reference to everyone that's like OMG METAL ROX POP SUX!) I like all genres of music myself, and can't stand people the judge or act like music snobs because other people listen to a genre they don't listen to. ANYWAY @OP: That sucks, I'm surprised no one's done that to me before!

Thank you #12! So many people I know are really snobbish about thier taste in music, and believe that their opinion on songs is unrefutable, and any songs they don't like are crap. God people- everyone has different tastes in music. Just respect whatever people enjoy listening to, and stop thinking you know what music really is.

I can't decide if you're a hypocrite, a liar, or both - or do you actually enjoy people screaming in your ear, as you describe metal? That's not what it is at all. There are actually several subgenres of metal, and only, like, one involves screaming.
