Today, I was taking people's orders at the drive-thru. I was confused as to why people were screaming their orders at me, until one of my managers handed me a paper that he'd found taped to the menu, saying "speak loudly speaker isn't working properly." Punkd. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Karen strikes again
Today, at work as a manager at pizza place, I got yelled by a customer because they got one fewer paper plates than they asked for. FML
Frustration level: infinity
Today, I was working drive thru and took a huge order. When the people pulled around to the window, they handed me a stack of coupons. None of the coupons were even related to what they ordered. They made me change their order to fit the coupons because they couldn't read. FML
Working here sucks
Today, while at work, a customer refused to speak louder, despite me asking her to do it several times. As a result, I took her order incorrectly. The customer then finally decided to raise her voice, but only to yell at me about my poor listening skills. FML
Today, I went through the drive-through at Dunkin Donuts and asked for an iced coffee. After no response, I started frantically screaming about bad service. After a while, a woman came out to my car and said, "Please pull up to the speaker." I'd been yelling at a garbage bin for 5 minutes. FML
Today, I'm no longer allowed to work the drive-thru at my job, because over the weekend, 3 dumbasses I go to school with came in and complained to my manager, saying I sounded a creepy pervert and that it scared them enough to take their business elsewhere. FML
Today, I told a customer at the drive-thru I couldn't hear him as he had his music blaring too loud. The customer then drove to the window and verbally abused me for listening to my iPod at work. My "iPod" is the headset we use to take orders at the drive-thru. FML
The Voice
Today, working at a fast food restaurant, I was cleaning dishes in the back. I started to sing to myself. During the chorus I heard the echo of my voice in my ear. My boss had pushed the talk button on my headset so every staff member and everyone in the lobby could hear me over the intercom. FML
Today, at work, I was trying to repeat an order back to this guy, when his drunk girlfriend started to interrupt me. Whenever I would open my mouth, she would say "Blah blah blah." Literally. Eventually, I gave up. I got his order wrong, and got yelled at by my manager for not repeating his order. FML
Monolith
Today, at Burger King, I was coming back from break. A customer screamed at me because she ordered a double cheeseburger without pickles, and they were put on anyway. She threw it in my face. My face was covered in ketchup mustard and pickle. Did I mention I was on a break and had nothing to do with this? FML
Today, while working at a sandwich shop, we had a shortage and could only put so many veggies on one sandwich. I explained this to one man who was grumpy about it, but kept on ordering. I thought everything went well. He thought my face was a good target to launch his completed sandwich at. FML

Ya it seems like the speakers are usually too loud or too quiet. I don't get how it was a prank though? Wasn't the speaker messed up on its own? And that's why the people were yelling... I'm confused.

@#20-the speaker was never broken, some smartass just put the note on there to make it look like it was. I may or may not have to try this sometime... lol

Fast food jobs suck. I am a bit surprised why you didn't just ask the customers why they were speaking so loudly though.

I work at Starbucks and I swear it must be impossible for people to talk to the speaker in a regular volumed voice, they're either screaming "HI CAN I GET A LATTE!". Or whispering "..hello can I just get a coffee.."

It must be boring working Starbucks drive thru. You probably don't get all the cars filled with drunk people to make it interesting.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to take my dad's order. I always tell him to make a desicision before he gets to the speaker, but he feels inclined to stare at the menu while saying "hmmm.." for a couple hours.
