Today, I was giving an anti-drugs speech to a group of ninth graders. I got onto the topic of trafficking from problem countries and asked a student to point out Mexico City on a map. He hesitated a few seconds before pointing at Canada. What the hell has the education system come to? FML

Today, I heard two of my students having a conversation. One asked what state Arizona was in, and the other replied Canada. I teach sixth grade social studies and they weren't joking. FML
Today, while teaching my history class, a girl asked me where North America was. She lives in North America. FML
Today, in the senior class I teach, I asked my students who had traveled outside of the country, excluding Canada and Mexico. One student raised his hand and proudly stated, "Arizona". He wants to be a doctor. FML
Today, I was getting ready to perform a speech in anthropology on the globalization of public transportation and how it brings cultures together. On the bus ride there, the girls behind me were discussing ways to hide their track marks after injecting. FML
Today, while answering an "anonymous" survey about how to keep my school drug free, I told them they should stop drug testing the kids that they know don't do drugs and test the sketchier ones. They in turn drug tested me. FML
Today, I was listening to my favorite radio station outta Detroit. A commercial came on for a program that was giving federal grants to people who were going into a trade, like me. Right as I was getting excited I heard the words "brought to you by the government of Canada." FML
Today, I had to show my daughter where the USA is on a map. She's 17, and we live in the USA. FML
Today, I found out my son was selling pot for pesos. We live in New Jersey and have never planned on going to Mexico. FML
Today, while at a school anti-drugs assembly, the speaker asked everyone to stand up if they knew someone who had died of an overdose. As I stood up, my friend hit me in the side, making me laugh. I stood frozen under accusing glares while the speaker bitched me out for a good 5 minutes. FML
Today, I went with my son to a conference about sexual education at his high school. I guess it was all too late, because among the attendees I saw three girls from the same high school who were already pregnant. They aren't even 18. FML

In Canada were taught to memorise the positions of most countries in the world throughout our schooling, when I was in grade nine I could name every south American country and knew where they were on a map, you guys need to catch up

Whoop-de-******* do, you memorized 14 countries (assuming you included The Falkland islands). Memorize all the countries in the world and I'll be impressed. Hell, memorize all the weird ass European countries and I'll be impressed. But really, just Souh America, really?

is see alot of these comments are "oh no one kid is dumb our future is screwed" well that is one kid and I'm pretty sure ever class has atleast one of them. yes that is probably more dumb kids then there were 30 years ago but our future is defiantly not screwed because I bet there were alot more smart or average kids that will do something for society them there are the dumb kids who won't help at all.

People just dont care they get all drugged up on whatever they can get then say why should i know this the problem is people dont care and the schools dont do their jobs at least very few teacher do it right
