Today, I was eating a brownie my grandmother had made, only to discover an inch long piece of what resembled dead skin in the middle of it. This discovery was only made after taking a bite and wondering why the consistency was wrong. FML

I just threw up a little.....

. . . and Grandpa's missing, and Grandma seems uncharacteristically cheery.

i'm a baker and im gonna put your mind to rest. the skin like flake you found is called chalaza its the white cord you find in eggs, she just didnt remove it before she added them. it has happened to me before and its very awkward to bite into that, i feel your pain

LOL. yeah I don't really eat my grandmas cooking anymore

I was thinking this would be about "special" brownies. I wish I hadn't eaten such a big dinner, I'm about to throw it all up after reading this...

This is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever read.

Thanks. I just threw up my coffee. Does granny have dementia or a hate for you? Blah.

that's so nasty! but funny

It could have been some egg white that didn't get mixed in all the way, after it's baked it turns pale, rubbery and skin like.

I thought grandmas were supposed to make good food
