Today, I was babysitting, and after the kids fell asleep I started hiding the Easter candy. They woke up when I was half-done, and it didn't take them long to figure out what was going on. They won't stop crying, and every time I go near them, they scream "LIAR!" FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was hiding Easter eggs around the house when my 7-year-old triplets woke up from their nap and saw me. They quickly realized that I am the Easter Bunny, and then they guessed that I am Santa. Now I have 3 crying second graders. FML
Crybabies
Today, I had an Easter Egg Hunt in my backyard for my kids. When they collected all the eggs, they opened them and to their dismay there was no candy inside. When I bought them, I thought they already came with candy. It’s been two hours and my kids won’t stop crying. FML
Today, the kids I babysit hid from me. While I was looking for them, I stepped on multiple strategically-placed Lego bricks. When I yelped from the pain, the kids jumped out and threw soccer balls in my face. FML
Bedtime story
Today, I was babysitting four rather noisy and rowdy kids. After a two-hour struggle, I finally managed to get them into bed. I then asked them what they wanted before going to sleep. The eldest replied: "Can you tell us a story where you die at the end?" FML
Good job
Today, I fell asleep on the couch while babysitting. When the kids' parents came home, they made fake crying noises to see if I would wake up. I slept like a baby, and by the time they finally roused me, I'd left a nice drool stain on the armrest. FML
Today, I was baby sitting ten year old twins. When they first saw me, they ran away screaming and hid in the closet. This isn't the first house where this has happened. FML
No one messes with Ben and/or Jerry
Today, I was instructed to tell my niece a bedtime story, so I made up a story where they come down to Earth and steal all the ice cream. Suddenly, she burst into tears and ran to her mom, screaming, "The aliens are coming! Save the ice cream!" Now, I'm banned from bedtime storytelling. FML
Today, it was Halloween, and I was giving candy to kids. When a group of kids who looked like they were around 4 years old came up to me and said, "Hey mister, do you have one of those things that make it look like you are fat under your shirt?" I didn't have one of those, but I lied and said, "Yes." FML
Smart gitl
Today, I was babysitting my niece when we decided to play hide and seek. I went in the shed, and waited. After waiting a while, I went to go back inside to see what was happening. I saw my niece had locked all the doors and was eating cookies on the kitchen bench. FML
Cuteness overload
Today, I was babysitting a little girl, and we were playing with dolls. After we fed her babies, we put them down for a nap. After a few minutes, I asked if they'd had enough sleep. She looked at me like I was a freak and said, "Uh, they're not real babies, you know…" FML

Better tell them about Santa so they leave you and go after their parents.

"No, kids, you see, the Easter Bunny told me he wasn't going to be able to make it and I should help. Why? Uh, well, his mom got hit by a car... NO! WAIT! STOP CRYING! THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!"

Hi .

Yes, because beating little kids, just because they thought something they were told their whole life was real, isn't. That's real smart.

20, my penis's mightier than both. Maybe not in this situation though...

Do you tell the parents they hit you first ? apparently as long as the kid started it it's OK.

36-... In what universe is it ok to hit a child, regardless of if they hit you first!?

It was a reference to another FML.

And a great pumpkin! Good grief! Edit: 56 beat me D:

Don't feel to bad about it. It wasn't your fault.
LightningCactus 12
It was OP's fault, but at OP was doing a good deed, it's a difficult thing with this topic and children. But there's no real convincing after they realize, sadly.

Toys 'R Us still solves everything...right? Right?!

Tell them that their parents have also been lying to them about Santa, Jesus, and "Hard work gets you far in life."
Snowkeys 11
I agree with everything you said. But you shouldn't tell someone hard work pays off then mention you shovel shit all day.
capslockisgood 19
Working hard is better than doing nothing but it doesn't get you far in life. EDIT: How far you get is generally based on luck.

Okay, I'm going to be the better person and not smack you with a Bible, but you should know how uncalled for that was, regardless of your own beliefs.

You could've said you had found a trail of candy pieces (or bags if that's what you were carrying) and had been picking them up while the kids were sleeping. Or the Easter bunny was so busy he entrusted you with the task. Honestly...it doesn't take much brain power to think of a creative story to dupe half asleep little children...

Since FMLs take awhile to get approved, it's most likely too late to offer any support :/
Catkam623 27
That or save some face and say I'm sorry I'm stealing your candy
evilplatypus 39
14 - Yes, but other readers may benefit. OP isn't the only parent on this site.
chocofudges94 8
Lol then she might in trouble with the parents...and still maybe make them cry...plus, the kids might never forgive her and turn from angels to demons in a second. You don't want to get between children and candy, esp on a holiday
Bubbelz 25
22 - While I fully agree, I'd like to point out that OP is most likely not a parent, as she was (only) babysitting other people's kids.

Honesty is the best policy. Why make up stories for your children? Be honest from the start. Why even say something else did it, tell them the story and why we do these traditions and to respect other children's right to believe their parents bullshit.
Kkkdawg 27
You must have had a very dull childhood

Better give the parents money or go buy a big ass easter bunny suit and give them some more candy! Easter two days this year bitches!
