Today, I wanted to buy a Philly cheesesteak from my campus grill, but I was running late so I ordered a grilled cheese as it would be simpler to prep. I then waited 20 minutes and watched as the cooks made 4 cheesesteaks for other orders before even starting my grilled cheese. I was late. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, a woman came in to order lunch. She ordered a sandwich then asked for me to configure it precisely to her complicated desires. This took a whole 5 minutes, during the lunch rush. When I told her the cost, she decided it was too expensive and cancelled her order. FML
Too many cooks, etc.
Today, I tried to make a grilled cheese sandwich for myself, but as soon as I started, my mom rushed into the kitchen and criticized me for making it "wrong". She then made the sandwich for me. It tasted significantly worse than when I make them. FML
Get back here!
Today, whilst working at Subway, I took an order for 6 footlongs. The entire process took 15 minutes due to the customer's hesitant and glacial pace. When it came to paying, he pulled out his wallet, looked inside, looked at me, and walked quickly out of the store. FML
Today, I ordered a plain cheeseburger. The cashier was confused, so I explained, "Just meat and cheese." When I got my food, my burger didn't have a bun. FML
Today, while working at a sandwich shop, we had a shortage and could only put so many veggies on one sandwich. I explained this to one man who was grumpy about it, but kept on ordering. I thought everything went well. He thought my face was a good target to launch his completed sandwich at. FML
Today, while waiting tables, I watched a woman pull the bacon off her roast beef melt and eat it. She then called me over and spent several minutes complaining about the our chefs' inadequacy because they didn't put bacon on her sandwich. FML
Today, while on break from work, I went to the cafeteria and bought cheese cubes. One of my coworkers, who is usually very pleasant, asked to try some and I said yes. She ate all the cheddar cubes in the bowl, which are the only ones I like. I wasted $3 for someone else to eat my food. FML
Hangry
Today, I walked all the way across campus to eat the first meal I've had all day. After waiting for my food in a congested line for 30 minutes, I got to the register to pay. Turns out my wallet was a twenty minute walk away, back in my apartment. FML
Today, I'm so broke after paying my bills, that I resorted to eating plain garlic butter from the pizzeria down the street for lunch. The worst part: to get the butter, I stormed in and angrily complained, saying they forgot to give it to me. I never even ordered a pizza. FML
Today, at work, I got to wait on one of those tables where everyone had very complex orders, and some of them sent their food back. When the time finally came for me to bring them their check and receive my well-earned tip, I returned only to discover that they'd dined and dashed. FML

Did you expect them to skip to you? The other people ordered first they get their food before you

This is one of the most painfully ironic things I've ever read.

Don't try to think you know how they run their kitchen. If they're set up for cheesesteaks, they're going to do that first and handle your pain-in-the-ass special order when they get to it.

Well, you were buyinga Philly cheesesteak in New York, so it would have sucked anyway.

Unless the people that ordered the 4 philly cheese stakes came is after you then you can't complain. If I have a short amount of time and I'm going to pick something up for lunch call shad an order for pick up this way the order is made or almost made so all you have to do is pay and eat.

I have learned through working on the food industry that orders are prepared in the order in which they are received. If that wasn't the case fairness would be obsolete. Sorry you were late. Perhaps next time you could call in your order in advance?

I will never understand why people, when running late, will stop and waste time getting a coffee or a heated sandwich or filling up with fuel, and then make out I am somehow to blame for serving people in the order they queued up. Leave 5 minutes earlier people!

I don't blame the workers for their methods, I was just frustrated. I could tell though that they were skipping me because they were serving order #'s 1003, 1004 etc when I had order 1000
