Today, I've now worked on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, the weekend after that, and two days this week. My husband and son have had all that time off, and yet I've still ended up having to clean the dishes and the house after them on all of these days. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
The bottom line
Today, I work in healthcare, and I was told that since someone quit I have to work Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas day, and all of New Year's weekend. This is after I was told, "Our workplace is a family." FML
Customer service
Today, I went to work during Black Friday, after not being invited to my family's Thanksgiving dinner. FML
Today, I worked a full day and then went to a three-hour class. I got home at 9 PM, and before the door closed I heard, "There's a sink full of dishes for you." There are three able-bodied men in the house, all of whom got here hours ago and created that sink full of dishes. FML
Unreasonable
Today, I'm on my sixth straight day of double shifts, with four more to go. I make overtime so I'm not complaining, but today my wife texted me, "Going out of town tonight, I expect the house to be spotless when I return." Not sure how I'm going to swing this one. FML
Clean freak
Today, at home, I always do my share of the chores. I just got back from a business trip and it turns out that I actually do ALL the chores. My wife was alone for 9 days, the kitchen was a in state, dirty laundry everywhere, cat litter box overflowing onto the floor, and the bathroom was fucking disgusting. FML
Just vibing
Today, it was our first kid-free weekend in almost two months, and I was hoping for a nice date night. Instead, she picked up two shifts at work and then had a girls' night. Don't worry, she assigned me a massive deep clean that ate up almost my entire weekend. FML
Quality family time
Today, after a long talk with the kids, I finally got all the chores around the house done early so we could have a fun family weekend. My wife decided to be a wet blanket and insisted we needed to deep clean the already clean kitchen. Three arguments later, everyone is sulking, and I'm working in the kitchen alone. FML
Today, my toilet broke. Yesterday, the shower filled up with sludge. I have ten people coming over for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. FML
Help, I need somebody!
Today, it's my birthday, and like every other Sunday, my wife's been called into work, and I'm left with our three toddlers and yesterday's mess to clean up. It's raining. FML
Today, after working 12 shifts in the past 8 days at 2 jobs and thinking today was a day off, I got the call that I misread my schedule and I was in fact scheduled. Got off at 2:30 am, work again at 9 am with 9 shifts to go this week. FML

I wouldn't lift a finger. That's just wrong.

True. I asked my unemployed (now ex) husband to clean the kitchen everyday for a week. I didn't touch the piles of dirty dishes and pots and pans except for exactly what I needed to cook (since he wasn't doing that either). After a week of him still doing nothing I lost my mind on him. I had no idea I could scream so shrilly until that day.

18 & 35: I don't mind a mess, so I'd wait out, personally. Everyone's different though.

Go on strike.

You shouldn't do it then. Dint cook, clean, do dishes, or any other motherly duties! They don't deserve your help!

My ex used to do that shit. I'd work twelve hours a day and come home to his unemployed ass sitting in the couch in a messy house, and the first thing he'd say when he saw me was, "When are you making dinner?" No amount of calm communication or, that failing, enraged fits would help the situation. My ex was worthless. Hopefully that's not the case with your husband and son. They mayjust not realize that their behavior is selfish. Men sometimes need to be told that their help is needed. Taking initiative in housework often doesn't come naturally to them. Tell them how you're tired and want to relax when you get home, and that them not doing their part makes you feel unloved and unappreciated. Explain this to them calmly and sincerely, and hopefully they'll realize how inconsiderate they're being. If that doesn't work, well then... I'm afraid you'll have to kill them.

I've noticed from personal experience that you should also make it seem like they're doing less work then they are, for example instead of telling them to take out the trash, sweep the kitchen floor, dishes, clear the table and wipe the table ( if you have a glass table) just tell one to clean the kitchen

But then they'll only do about half of what needs to be done since that's clean in their mind.

YDI. But only because you did them and basically trained them that no matter how many hours you work you'll still do the housework.

How you give this lady a, "ydi". Shame on y'all people.

Because she didn't do anything about it

She's been enabling them to be lazy.
