Today, I turned in an essay after staying up late to work on it. I was away when the teacher assigned it, so I'd asked my friend what the subject was. It transpires that she'd given me the wrong one, all because she was mad at me for not returning her pencil. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
FIXED
Today, I pulled an all-nighter to finish an essay. I submitted it one minute before the deadline. Later, I opened the file to double-check and realized I'd uploaded my rough draft, containing notes like “THIS PART MAKES NO SENSE, FIX LATER.” The professor then replied, “I agree with your assessments.” FML
Underfunded and underappreciated
Today, I got back the essay I wrote about how my country's education system is fucked. At one point, I made a spelling mistake. My teacher wrote a note about it, basically calling me illiterate, and telling me to pay attention in school instead of whining about it. She misspelled "school". FML
Today, after finishing a huge French essay, I realized my printer wasn't working. So, I emailed it to a guy in my class to print and then give to me. When I get to French, he said he had already turned his in early and never got my email. It turned out he used mine. I got an F on the essay. FML
Today, I turned in my homework. Too bad I accidentally handed in the printed answer sheet I found online to copy from. FML
Today, I turned in an overdue English assignment at college. My instructor accused me of plagiarism, writing that my sentence structure was "TO" good. Seriously? FML
Proofread your stuff
Today, I typed an essay on my friend's computer, so she forwarded it to me in a email and she made the subject "here bitch" as a joke. I then went to email the essay to my teacher. I forwarded it thinking nothing of it only to realize that I didn't change the subject name. FML
Today, I did a 3 hour long assignment for school. I was bored so I gave it the title "F***ing Assignment for a F***ing Teacher." I went downstairs only to discover that the printer was out of ink. So I sent it to her email, then I realized that I didn't change the title. FML
Today, I received a terrible grade for an essay I worked really hard on. I had two friends, one being an English major, check it over. However, apparently I "clearly didn't use spellcheck" on this essay just like the last one I submitted to her. FML
Today, my mom woke me up in the middle of the night to make me help my brother write an essay. I read what he wrote so far, gave him my suggestions, and went back to bed. She woke me up 30 mins later because he just sat and stared at his paper instead of fixing anything. Somehow that's my fault. FML
Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML

Pencil's are very valuable things, especially if they are the ones with Hello Kitty drawn on the side.

Happened to me too! I lost my leg from borrowing her pen. I don't regret it. This Bic pen is the bomb man. It even has an eraser.

Some friend. It's just a pencil... You find more on the floor or take them from your teacher.

I meant you can find. (The reply feature sucks on the WP7 app.)

This is why you ask your teacher.

Go get yourself a supply of pencils - and while you're at it, get some new friends.

tell her that her mom is sleeping with her boyfriend. then say, "don't worry, it's not that bad."

Buy an ENTIRE box of pencils that look just like the one they're upset about, and snap them all in their face one a time; in a passive aggressive voice, say "Gee....you know what's funny about those pencils.....they mean just as little as our friendship.......And I'd imagine that they break as easily as some of the bones in your body. oh well, food for thought." Then say you'll see them later, and walk away as though nothing happened.

yet another instance of "that word doesn't mean what you think it means." "Transpire" means "to breathe across." It has not nor will it ever mean "to happen." Sorry...using correct words tends to help people understand what exactly you're talking about. ;)

well, I think people understood regardless of her bad vocabulary and word choice.

One of its uses may be to "breathe across", but a quick 5-second search shows that its main uses are... 1. Occur; happen. 2. Prove to be the case: "as it transpired, he was right". She's right. I'm sorry I'm being anal about this, I just thought you should know.

Er, transpire does not and never has meant "to breathe across". The Oxford English dictionary lists the meanings of transpire as 1. come to be known; prove to be so 2. happen 3. (Botany) of a plant or leaf - give off water vapour through the stomata "To breathe across" is not even mentioned.

the dictionary begs to differ.
