Actually, most of them really don't. On top of that, the majority (in the US anyway) start their careers with about $100k or more in student debt. You don't become a vet to get rich. But that has nothing to do with this FML anyway so I'm not sure why you brought it up. The OP's vet is just a creep, and would be no matter how much money he was making.
