Today, I texted my Dad to tell him I'm staying at my boyfriend's house and won't be home. Since I had predictive text on, my phone didn't quite get the word 'home' - the message I sent said, 'I'm staying at Will's, I'll not be good tonight.' FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was using my dad's cell because I had broken mine. I was texting my boyfriend all day when my dad needed his phone back. I forgot to tell my boyfriend that my dad would be using the phone. My boyfriend then texted graphically what he wanted to do to my dad. FML
Girl…
Today, I got a text message. It said, "I'm so drunk. What you up to, girl?" It was my dad. FML
Mistaken identity
Today, my boyfriend and I slept together. In the middle of the night, he saw my phone receiving a text from someone saying, "Hey baby, I missed you so much! I'm going to be visiting in a couple of days, hope to see you again, I love you!" He got mad and left my house. It was my dad in Ohio. FML
Explain yourself
Today, I received a text message from my wife, who had gone out for the evening with some girlfriends, saying, "I have to take a friend home, she's drunk! I'll be staying at his place. Call you in the morning." Umm… His? FML
Today, I was house sitting by myself and I texted my mom saying how thankful I was that she was trusting me and not checking up on me. That night I threw a party at the house. My mom showed up to check on me because my text was "suspicious". FML
Today, I purposely misspelled words while texting my boyfriend so he would think I was out partying and having a life. FML
Today, I came home sick. After a while I received a text message. I thought it was a sweet "How are you baby?" from my boyfriend. It wasn't. He sent: "Hey, I'm going to work now. Please do not disturb. Thank you!" FML
Today, my parents left for work before I had to leave for school and I decided to skip. I stayed by the phone, expecting the school to call so I could pose as my parent and excuse my absence. The phone rings and I pick up. It's my Mom, calling to leave my dad a message on the machine. FML
Ghost
Today, I texted the guy I went out with last night. He'd told me he’d text me when he got home, but he never did. Cracking a joke, I asked him if he was homeless or something, since he broke his word. He replied, “No, I’m just not that into you. Have a nice life.” FML
Today, I was sneaking over to my girlfriend's house. I sent her mother a text message thinking it was my girlfriend saying "There's a stalker coming in to make you his play mate ;]" Unfortunately when I got to her window I was greeted by her dad with a bat. FML

Ummm, this is why we have cliches. Plus, if you know enough to be on this site, you know not to trust predictive text.
whatevershesaid 0
Yeah, wrong use of the word cliched.
renaet 0
Yeah what exactly did you mean by cliches o_O

...What?

I think whatevershesaid meant "commonly-used abbreviations" instead of "cliches." LOL, IDK, BRB, LMAO don't get "fixed" by predictive text. ING2BH2N is not widely accepted, though.

that happens a lot I end up typing good for home, of for me, if for he, etc.

A cliche is a template/sjablon.

It is worded weirdly. "I'll not be home tonight"? Very strange indeed.
stevets01 6
Well, when you think about it, it's just him saying "I will not be home tonight".

It's not worded weirdly at all. That sort of phrasing is perfectly normal in the UK.

It's English. As in England.

I didn't get it either. And plus, it's too wordy.

I really hate when that happens. I think it's a hassle to go back through and edit all your mistaken words too.

Do people not re-read their texts before they send them? Esp with predictive text on.
StaticDown 0
I sure do... but sometimes it happens randomly if I'm sending a quick text and I don't notice... Mostly I remember to double check though.

No.

u look like a burnt fake blonde lol!!

So......is double-checking messages before sending considered not-cool these days? It doesn't take long to make sure you typed up the right words.

yeah we are rebels. Checking our messages before sending them is so non-rebellious XD I have a qwerty phone... so much easier to NOT screw up.

YDI for using predictive text, and not reading it over before you send -_-
