Today, I spent $20 on a spray tan, $30 to have my make up done, and $50 on a pretty new dress all for a special date with my boyfriend. It turns out I spent $100 just to get dumped. FML

Today, my boyfriend wanted to take me to a movie after days of not seeing me. This long-awaited date involved me paying for food and my movie ticket when he ran out of cash again. He then dumped me as we left the theater walking to his car. Yes, I financed my own breakup date. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home from college for the first time in weeks just to visit me. I was so excited that I spent two hours getting ready. Turns out he was only coming back to dump me. Now I'm single and out of foundation. FML
Today, one of my boyfriend's friends ranted on about how I am such a crappy girlfriend and how all of his friends don't like me. I just spent over $200 on a surprise party that I invited them all to last weekend. FML
Today, after telling my girlfriend that I loved her, she dumped me claiming I was getting "too attached". I've already spent almost $400 on her Valentine's Day present. FML

Today, it was my birthday. My boyfriend made me breakfast in bed, then we went out shopping, had a picnic, watched a good romcom, had a fancy dinner, and ended the day with great sex. And when the clock struck twelve, he dumped me. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a $100 gift card for Victoria's Secret. Suspicious, I checked the receipt he'd left in the bag. Turns out he had bought it during the two weeks we were broken up for some other girl who rejected him, so decided to give it to me instead. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend wrote 50 dollars on my gift card just to look generous, it's really only worth five. I found this out after I tried to buy an arm full of clothes. FML
Today, I spent 65 dollars in cab fare and skipped half of my grade 12 classes, including a unit test, to see my girlfriend on our two year anniversary. I arrived just in time to see her kiss her other boyfriend of over a year good bye. FML
Today, I got home from visiting my long-distance girlfriend. I spent $366 to get a plane ticket to visit her for the week. The day after I arrived there, she broke up with me and I had to buy a ticket for an earlier flight home. With fees and penalties, I paid around $550 to be broken up with. FML

Many spray tans look unnatural. In my opinion, pale skin looks better than a fake spray tan. And yeah, getting a real tan may cause you to get skin cancer but if you wear sun screen and don't spend too much time tanning, the chances are really low.

I know right! Seriously, tan natural and I hate it when girls over do it on the make up. Sure a LITTLE bit looks nice but you end up looking like a clown if you wear too much. My mom always told me that when I want to wear make up, it shouldn't stand out too much.

Well a light, natural tan looks okay. But it depends... If you're naturally fair skinned and pale, you probably shouldn't try to tan so much

If you tan outside in the sun it won't bake your skin if you only go out for a little while and wear sunscreen, it definitely looks better than a spray tan

You deserve it for going overboard. I'm sure your boyfriend liked the way you looked before you did all that. Now he probably thinks you're high maintenance and he couldn't handle being with someone like that. I sure as hell couldn't. That gets real expensive real fast. Are you going to spend that much to look "good" on every date you go on? Work on your insecurities, OP, before you work a hole in your wallet. Spray tans and too much make up don't buy love.
