Today, I set my beer on the windowsill while I made space for it on the table. Suddenly, the wind knocked the window open. Into my beer. Into a box of expensive electronics. It was the last beer. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
All over the place
Today, I was out having a beer with a few friends. After getting a pint, I slipped in a puddle of beer, fell on top of a stranger on the sofa, and knocked my beer upside down on my head. Then, completely soaked, I realized I'd also knocked over the table, spilling its content on a poor girl across it. FML
He giveth and he taketh away
Today, someone at work left 10 unopened beers after hours. I’m not much of a drinker, but free is free, so I took them home during my lunch break. After work, I left my new phone on top of my car, forgot about it, drove off, and it smashed in the middle of the road. Looks like I’m drinking those beers tonight. FML
Craft beer bores
Today, just before bed, I decided to put away the dry washing. I ended up knocking over my boyfriend's precious brewing ginger beer. It took me an hour to clean it off the floor, cupboards, door, outside and inside of the fridge. Everything is still sticky and smells of yeast. FML
Today, I bought a party bowl of Bud Light for a get-together. Around midnight, I realized that I didn't have the tap to get the beer out. Fifty-five cans of untappable beer and no more beer money. FML
Priorities
Today, I was driving to my new home with a lot of my belongings in the car. I could hear things shifting in the back. When I parked, I opened the door, ready to catch my vodka. I caught it - and watched my laptop slide out of the car, onto the concrete, and break into 3 pieces. FML
Good morning
Today, I lifted up my blinds, only for them to detach from the wall, hit me on the head, knock a pile of paper over, spill a can of Pepsi, leave plaster all over the floor and a gaping hole in the wall above my window. FML
Today, I went into my fridge and someone had drank all the beer. Only my 8-year-old son lives with me. FML
Wine about it
Today, I knocked over and broke one of two very expensive wine bottles. As I was using the mop to clean it up, the handle knocked over and broke the other. FML
Gross!
Today, my roommate moved out. When I went into his room, I found a few things he forgot. Specifically, his beer bottle filled with nail clippings. I emptied it onto my hand before I realized what it was. FML
Drunk on the job
Today, I was in a rush to get my lunch for work. I quickly opened my fridge to grab it, and accidentally knocked over a beer, spilling a little on my pants. I told myself I'd spray them in the car. I forgot, and when I got into work, someone sat down and commented that they smelled beer. The person was a student. FML

You sound more upset about the beer then the expensive electronics
themassivefuckup 16
The beer is your first priority, when you spilled it all over electronics that you specified as expensive?

We should have a beer delivery service, a multimillion dollar idea right there

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out what kind of window this would be. all the windows I can think of open outwards.. this is going to bother me all night.

I live in an old building with big windows that (annoyingly) open inward on hinges like a door.

I have an inner one has netting that opens inwards, the outer is glass and opens outwards. Yup, annoying - but you cant afford to nitpick when you rent, sadly.

I don't think I have ever seen a window that doesn't open inwards? (at least in a normal house). Is this a US thing again? (the outwards windows I mean)

I am in the US, the inward opening windows are pretty uncommon here. Think about it. when your windows open inward you can't keep anything on the windowsill permanently, permenantly, can't have window gardens, and generally can't keep anything above window height within a foot or 2 of your window. when they open out or up, they are taking up space that usually isn't used anyway

Thanks for the answer! Yes, I absolutely get what you're saying. It's just not what I'm used to. In Europe 99% of all windows open like this: www (dot) wascowindows (dot) com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/DSC00483.jpg (they're even advertised as "european windows" on that website :P)

This is a straight YDI for being careless. I always take care not to have any liquids within reaching distance of electronics, and also not to carry hot tea over my dog. Just in case, you know.

Oh definitely, but in my defense the box wasn't even close to the window, that poor little can caught some serious air. RIP

Alcohol abuse....poor little beer
sayno2mermaids 10
The fact that it was the last beer just added insult to injury, the frantic scrambling dance I did to drain and dry off the stuff in the box definitely came first, haha. The window showed no remorse.

As long as none of the electronics were not plugged in, and none of them were on. They should be fine, but you need to clean them, and DO NOT turn them on while they are wet. Set them in uncooked rice to draw out the moisture.

There is way more to this story

You sound like an alcoholic when you're more worried about the last beer than the potentially ruined electronics. It's cheaper to replace the beer.

Pretty sure he just meant some more alchohol would help to alleviate the stress caused by the spillage.

Oh my god!! Was it the last beer?? I... I'm so sorry, OP... that's awfull... no beer...
