Today, it was my best friend's birthday party. Her boyfriend and I agreed to organize a dinner date to surprise her and celebrate. They celebrated, but forgot me until they arrived at the restaurant and saw the dinner reservation under my name. FML

Today, my mom and I went out to a fancy and expensive restaurant per her request; she told me it was her treat. After we ate our meals and the large check came, she excused herself to the bathroom. She didn't come back. I was dine-and-dashed by my own mother. FML

Do not underestimate the power of a public shaming. Bring it up in front of mutual friends/acquaintances whenever the opportunity arises. Next time you visit his home, ask his parents if their finances are in good order, and tell them that you'd like to lend a hand if you can. Tell the story to their puzzled faces. You'll get the money -- and a decent tip as well.

No friend of yours. Now you have to pay their check (I assume, since you were waiting on them) or possibly get fired.

their bill + pictures -> managers with alert to security... next time they come in you'll get your tip included with interest added to the bill.
