Today, I sent my girlfriend a text this morning saying I love you. I rarely do this and instead of receiving the same message back, I got a message from my girlfriend accusing me of meaning to send it to someone else and dumped me. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me through a text message. In retaliation, I started typing a long list of everything I hate about her. Just as I pressed the send button, she text me again saying "Just joking. You know I'd never leave you. Love you babe :)" FML
Carrier pigeon
Today, I sent my girlfriend a nice "Good morning" text after I woke up. Then I found a paper note stuck to my bedroom door, in which she broke up with me. FML
It's for the best
Today, my girlfriend had someone else dump me via text message. I knew it wasn't her because for once I wasn't being viciously insulted, and it wasn't written as if an illiterate baboon had taken a shit all over her keypad. I can't even feel happy about being rid of her. FML
Guilt trip
Today, I sent my boyfriend a sweet text message, since he recently complained that I'm rarely romantic. Instead of being happy, he decided that since it's so out of character for me, I must be cheating on him and must have only sent it out of guilt. FML
Today, I sent a cute, jokey text to my girlfriend saying, "Just in case the world ends, I love you." Not only did she dump me because I was an "idiot for believing in the doomsday", which I don't, she also wrote a Facebook status about it. Now everyone thinks I'm mentally unstable. FML
Today, I got a text from my girlfriend saying she needed more phone credit, so I bought her more and got another message saying "Great, now I have enough credit for this..." as she spelled out a three page message breaking up with me. Yes, I paid for her to break up with me via text. FML
Not much better
Today, I received a text from my girlfriend in which she broke up with me. I was upset, but one minute later another text from her said, "Sorry, wrong person." FML
Today, my girlfriend told me she loved me for the first time. Unfortunately, it was her way of saying that she didn't want to lose me after cheating on me yesterday. FML
Today, my girlfriend accused me of not having any friends. So I sent out a mass text saying "Hey, what's up?" to prove her wrong. I didn't get any replies. FML
Today, I sent my girlfriend a long-overdue message telling her I feel like she doesn't really care about me any more, that it seems like she only ever calls me when she needs money, and that I'm even starting to suspect she may be cheating on me. 14 hours later, she replied: "TL;DR". FML

could be someone's making excuses to break it off... in my opinion

It's also not the way to break up with someone. A text, really?

Well I wouldn't hurt if OP had said that more often but still he didn't deserve to be dumped just because his gf is a paranoid psycho >.

It's not a logical conclusion. But I can only think that she thought he didn't mean it because he rarely says it, and that's why she broke up with him. Still, it was a bullshit way to do it.

She seems nice

Awwww I'm sorry.... You don't need someone like that anyway... Hope you guys can still be friends?

Friends with someone like that, really?
vipirius 18
After that, I don't think OP would want to stay friends.

"I know the dog died, but we can still keep him."

Why would a man want to be friends with ex-girlfriend who treated him poorly?

Well... way to assume the unlikely and blow it out of proportions. I'm pretty sure she wasn't worth your time anyway, if she was that jealous.

Honestly I can't figure out if this is a "That's terrible, I'm sorry," or "You dodged a bullet." Seems like both, really.
SoliDSt33L 33
It's definitely both. OP dodged a bullet - I can't imagine how this would work a year or two later. Simply, it is terrible - you text your girlfriend, tell her that you love her, and BOOM! It's over for no logical reason. It almost sounds like OP's girlfriend made an excuse to break up with him. Good luck, OP.

Good point 6. OP would probably have the first posthumous fml ever.

It's good that you don't have to be with her in a way

I don't understand how your girlfriend mistakes who you love OP. Just explain to her hopefully she will understand!

I think she thought so because she on the other probably send those kinda text to someone else other than OP. Cheater are mostly the quickest to point accusing fingers. Sorry OP!
kazrron 5
from my experience she, she was cheating on OP
AussieChick101 13
She sounds highly insecure to jump to a conclusion like that so quickly.
Enslaved 38
Agree. God forbid you, out of the blue, ever bring her flowers. She'd accuse you of cheating and only buying flowers out of guilt!

That's quite the assumption. What's even worse is she acted on the assumption. She probably lost someone who's really great
