well if you really loved your boyfriend you wouldnt even consider dumping him an option. sorry, but it sounds like whether you hate his sister or not, the relationship won't work.

That doesn't even make sense 57. Op should be alone forever because anyone she dates will have family?? Op isn't trying to break up the family, she isn't saying choose between them or me. Plus, chances are that the sister is being really nasty, and not acting like a normal person. There's a very good chance that op could fall in love with someone and love their family as well. Maybe op doesn't love her boyfriend enough to consider marrying him and being attached to that family and the little sister for the rest of her life. Nothing wrong with that. Hopefully when she finds the person she truly loves, she'll either love the family as well, or if there are issues, she'll love her guy enough that it won't be as big as deal, and they'll both make compromises to make the situation work.

Family can be a big issue especially when they are close. Had an ex give up half her paycheck to help her sister and sister's kids, but it meant my ex never really had money to help pay bills which went through the roof because of her. Also, number of issues with not being able to plan around her family because they'd always change plans last min.

I agree that family can be a huge issue. There's the saying "you're marrying into the family too" for a reason.
