Today, I reached the point in my life where Target is the "expensive" store. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Good night!
Today, Target asked me if I would do the closing announcement. I've only been working there a little while, so excited I agreed. I told people, "The store is now closing, thank you for shopping at Walmart." FML
Winner winner chicken dinner
Today, I realized I have finally turned into my mother when I got excited about using so many coupons that I only paid 70 cents for $14 worth of groceries. I need a life. FML
Impulse purchase
Today, I wanted a Stranger Things flashlight, but I saw they were out of stock at Target so I ordered one on Mercari. The Target website later got more in, so I paid double the original price with shipping included. I’m done online shopping for myself. FML
Today, I was at Target deciding what chap-stick to get when an old lady violently hit me with her umbrella and kept yelling at me saying, "You are too young for this! Think twice!" FML
Today, I wore an expensive vintage blazer which I'd purchased at a market in Paris. Turns out my colleague has the exact same one, only hers is from a clearance rack at Target. FML
Lonely
Today, I purposely wore a red shirt to Target just so people would talk to me. FML
Today, I have to go on a diet, because I can't afford to buy bigger clothes. FML
Welcome to middle age
Today, I found out I've been adulting too long when I noticed that the bags at Smart & Final are shorter than the last time I was here. FML
Rip it up and start again
Today, I finally finished my Christmas shopping and felt like an absolute champion. That was until I got home and realized I'd left one of the shopping bags in the parking lot. The bag contained the most expensive gift I'd bought. FML
Today, I was at Target trying on swimsuits. I tried on a medium bottom and was so excited because it fit perfectly even though I've gained a few pounds. My self-esteem was at an all-time high until my mom told me I could never fit into a medium. I rechecked the tag. It was an extra large. FML

At least you haven't yet reached the point where you can hardly maintain a hard-on. Oh how I am dreading that day.

I think everybody gets at that point sometime in their life.

Now if only the Republicans would let us have a chance in this world..

Moderated? Wow, that's sad.

Yeah, I know how that is. I just reached the point where Kohl's is a decent job opportunity. :/

Kohl's? Oh you have a long way to go before you bottom out dearie.

I work at Kohl's! It's a great job if you're part time. I'm a nanny as well, so Kohl's is my non-necessity spending money! Lol.

In response to #49 - I know it's not rock bottom, but I'm 25 with an associate's degree, and all my friends have real careers. I just thought my life would be going in a different direction by this age. It's just depressing.

I'd much rather work at Kohl's than the Dairy Queen I work at.

Kohls is evil, they are the worst company I've ever worked for!! Don't do it!!

124- How so? I've worked there for about a year and haven't run into any problems yet. Should I be worried?! Lol.

I feel your pain. I'm in my mid 30's with a degree and I'm a glorified copy tech. It sucks.

Wow. I love working at Kohls. No problems so far. Would love it more if I got a bigger discount.

Happens to everyone, OP. This is actually a rewarding experience, believe it or not. You will learn how to stretch money and get rid of inessential items, which will serve you really well in the long run. Pro-tip from writer David Wong: "If You Make a Pot of Chili and Freeze Bowls of It You'll Totally Have Like Two Months' Worth of Meals There."

David Wong is a hilarious genius :'3

Give it the pseudo-French pronunciation that makes it sound all upscale. You'll feel better.

It's tough, but at least you're not saying that Goodwill is too expensive.
