Today, I re-dislocated my arm trying to get it out of the cast it was in because I didn't want to pay the $50 dollar fee to get it taken off. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I fell down the stairs and broke my arm. I went into hospital to get it put in a cast, but still went into school afterwards. I got written up for truancy because I didn't have a doctor's note. The cast was still on my arm. FML
Back to square one
Today, I finally got the cast off my leg after being unable to walk for 6 weeks, watching daytime TV or playing my husband's Xbox all day. The second the plaster came off, I tried to stand up, tripped over the doctor's foot and broke the apparently still not fully healed leg again in the same spot. FML
Cruel Summer
Today, I went to the hospital to get a cast that I have been wearing for the past three months removed from my wrist. Thanks to said cast, I couldn't have any summer fun at all. The doctor took a final X-ray and said, "Well look at that, your wrist wasn't fractured to begin with." FML
Get some rest
Today, I dislocated my shoulder doing a really big stretch when I woke up. After the doctor relocated it, my dad told me I still had to do my chores. No excuses. FML
Today, my doctor called and asked me when I could have my broken hand x-rayed again. I said the ER staff had told me it was a bad sprain over two weeks ago. I'm now in a full cast, and have to have my partially healed bones re-broken. There goes my summer. FML
Fake it til you make it
Today, I sprained an arm muscle while pretending to lift weights. FML
Breaking the law (and bones)
Today, I came out from the E.R. with an arm cast and stitches on my head, all because a cyclist ran me over on a pedestrian walkway and got away. FML
Doofus
Today, I was laying on the couch with a cast on my broken ankle. My brother thought it would be funny to shoot my cast with a high-powered pellet gun. It went straight through the cast and now I need to go back to the hospital. FML
Today, a nurse berated me for not being able to lift my leg myself so she could put a cast on. My leg is broken in two places. FML
Today, I had to cut short my New Year's resolution of going to the gym daily, when the meathead next to me dropped some heavy weights, which bounced and landed on my foot. I'm sitting at home in a cast. FML

Of course he is, he should've just helped the woman with the snake problem and could've got an easy $50 for stabbing a diamond-weave hat. Then he wouldn't have been wasting his money on getting the cast off. Duh. :U

shut up with your "i'm glad i live in the UK". nobody loves you. oh, and if you dislocate your arm, you're paying in euros. so haha to you. by you, i mean you as a person, not as the country
nice18 0
1. We don't use Euro's here. 2. Healthcare is funded by taxes, we don't pay for healthcare directly. Please excuse me if I read your comment wrong, it's 2am here.

Brilliant! Obama has plans to not let poor people who can't afford insurance die, and all the Americans are getting arsey about it and howling about how their system is JUST FINE AS IT IS THANK YOU VERY MUCH and HOW AWFUL THE BRITISH SYSTEM IS OH GOD NO NHS = AWFULNESS WE DON'T WANT THAT SORT OF THING IN THIS GLORIOUS COUNTRY GOD SAVE AMERICA. And then an FML like this appears. Classic.

$50 is a lot of money just to have it taken off. However, I would still have gotten help from somebody else. :/ If it's going to be the cheap route, have decent alternatives at least.
curryndricegirll 0
i don't know whether or not to say that he deserves it. i mean, he might honestly not have been able to afford it. but i don't see how he thought he could just "pull it off". i mean, at least get a box cutter and break it open
Strike1 0
If you can't afford it, wait for your paycheck or borrow some money. Anyone who took 5 seconds to weigh the pros and cons should know this. You can either save $50 or lose hundreds or potentially low thousands, and then have to pay the $50 again to get it off correctly. YDI.

awh, fyl for living in a country that doesn't take care of it's own people..
emzmcgee 0
Uh, obviously they do since he could have paid the money to have it removed...
FMLable 0
"paid the money" is the key phrase. Most developed countries wouldn't make you pay 50$ - or anything at all - for a simple procedure. Or for any necessary, non-elective procedure for that matter.

did u bleach ur hair before u dyed it? love that color :D
leadawg75 12
They do take are of their people they just make sure they take all your money first...and quite often f*** up the procedure.

cheap bastard. I don't usually enjoy other people's discomfort, but this is actually so funny I'm picturing the moron in my head jerking his arm out. I'm still laughing. ydi

Ydi for being cheap!
mcsnelly 5
Gee, did you ever stop to think that maybe there's a reason they have the doctor do that? Yeah, YDI.
