Today, I moved three hours away from my boyfriend for college. Even though he got accepted to the same school and had a job lined up in town, he decided not to come with me because the Internet at our apartment wasn't going to be fast enough for his gaming. FML

Today, my boyfriend of 3 months broke up with me because he is moving. He's only moving 20 minutes away. FML
Today, my long-distance boyfriend of 3 years uttered the heartbreaking words, “I met this girl here in my hometown and she’s really great and we fell in love with each other, I can’t do this anymore. We’re over.” I was planning on moving to his town after graduation this year. FML
Today, after months of planning, my boyfriend told me he's changed his mind and doesn’t want to move with me to where I got a job. Why? He doesn’t want to live that far away from his mother. FML
Today, my 24 year-old boyfriend said that he wanted to move out of our apartment, but also stay in a relationship. He's moving back in with his parents, over two hours away. FML.
Today, I changed all my plans, after months of him begging me to, so I could go to the same university as my long-term boyfriend. After I sent in my deposit, he told me we couldn't live together in college because I was "invading his space." FML
Today, my best friend decided to make some life changes. He got a new job, a new car, and asked me to move out of our apartment. We're 1,500 miles away from my hometown. I only moved all the way out here to live with him in the first place because he asked me to. FML
Today, I had to choose between staying with my boyfriend and moving out to a better job. I chose my boyfriend. He promptly left me because I didn't take the job. FML
Today, my boyfriend moved. He moved from my room... to my housemate's room. FML
Today, I found out my ex-boyfriend is currently dating a girl who lives in Korea. We broke up because I was moving to a different part of the city for college and he thought the distance would be "too much." FML
Today, my boyfriend informed me via text message that he had moved to Bristol, and the reason he had ignored me the past fortnight was because he didn't know how to tell me. He knew he was moving even before we even got together. FML

In case anybody else was confused, I put an IP trace on #2's comment, and it's from an alternate universe in which the OP talked about being weird and taking away her boyfriend's games. She hid them like Easter eggs.

It's petty, but at the same time, it's a constant niggle, and little niggles can build up to destroy a relationship. Look at it this way - if OP'S bf had posted that she'd asked him to give up his gaming or she didn't want want to be with him, how many of us would be saying FYL?

I just had to comment. I think he is using it as an excuse. I say this because I know for a fact the internet is fast enough were you are as I live there and go to the same college. Maybe the free internet provided with the apartment isn't good enough but Comcast offers up to 2Gb/sec in this area. With 150Mb/sec being cheap as $35/month if you watch for a promotion. Currently paying $90/month for cable TV + 250Mb/sec. And the ping here is low also 10ms is my average. So he is an idiot. Hope to hear more on this story from op.
