Today, I learned there is a taste difference between grabbing a glass of milk that has been sitting on your night table for a week and the one you put on there 3 minutes before. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Ewww, gross
Today, I discovered why the milk in my house has a funny, sweet taste. My family has been pouring the leftover milk from their cereal back into the carton. FML
Plooped
Today, I was pouring milk into my coffee and, as it plooped into my mug, I noticed the expiration date on the jug passed two weeks ago. Nobody here drinks milk very often and I ran out of creamer, so I've been unknowingly drinking my coffee with curdled milk for the past three days. FML
Check your head
Today, I had a real coffee again after being sick for two weeks. It didn't taste so good, though. Just like the one I had yesterday. Well, I thought, maybe my taste has changed? Maybe I just need to get used to it again? No, it was just that the milk had gone bad three days ago. FML
Today, I found a small bottle of chocolate milk in the fridge from McDonald's. I've been living with my grandparents while going to college and figuring they'd never drink it themselves, I took a sip. It had expired two years ago. FML
Tasty
Today, I really wanted something to drink. I looked in the fridge, and found some of my grandma's soy milk. I took a swig, and instead of tasting soy, I tasted something rotten. Turns out my grandma knows I drink her soy milk, so she swapped it with expired chicken broth. FML
Milky Milky
Today, the host family that I'm staying with in China gave me a small milk box to drink. It tasted a bit tangy and sour, but I thought that was probably just the taste of milk in China. Trying to be polite, I practically chugged the whole box. Later, I found out that it had expired 20 days ago. FML
Today, I saw my mom changing the expiry date on milk. She genuinely thought this would make the milk sour later. FML
Rotten
Today, my roommate thought that "sour milk" would taste like sour candy. She left a jug of milk out for two days, then took a huge gulp, vomited everywhere, and dropped the jug. Now the kitchen stinks of rotten dairy. FML
Today, I learned that lemonade and urine look very similar to one another. I also learned that they taste very different. FML
Random Access Memories
Today, I learned the horrifying implications of my memory not being what it used to be when I bought a tasty-looking chocolate bar, only to realize upon taking a bite that I'd bought one before and not liked it one bit. FML

"Today, I learned that I DONT REALLY CARE. FYL"

No. I KNOW you already realized it. Don't say you learned it, OP. You have to actually be mentally retarded to not know that already. "Today, I accidentally drank from the glass..." would be more appropriate. Also, YDI for letting a glass of milk sit for that long.

Today, I agreed with #11. FYL. How is this even considered an FML? "OMFG BAD MILK GOTTA GO QQ ON FML." Lawl.

Why the **** is there a week-old glass of milk on your table?

@66: Seconded I won't let a glass of water sit in my room for more than a day. What kind of a slob leaves a glass of MILK out for a WEEK?

Seconded. Edit: I'm seconding the previous comment, not claiming I'm second poster. It's sad that I have to specify.

I think the "-ed" made it obvious. But, then again, I consider myself literate. =P

I have. Also left a bottle of chocolate milk in my car. When I dumped it out, it was lumpy and looked/smelled like vomit.

Surely it would have curdled into a solid, lumpy, reeking mess by that point? How did you fail to notice the difference? (Sorry if you're blind and an anosmiac)

Exactly what I was thinking.. Not forgetting, the bad smell. Btw, OP, I bet the rotten milk tasted like yoghurt :3

i think you would've got seriously ill if this was true?

Do you get seriously ill if you eat yogurt? Or cheese? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermented_milk_products
nokillnobeepbeep 0
Fermentation is very different from rotten milk. Unprocessed spoiled milk can give you food poisoning. It usually requires a large amount though.
letitbe56 0
I'm pretty sure the difference between fermentation and just plain spoiling is the kind of organism (in this case bacteria) that is introduced to cause the process. So yes, "different" but not "very different."

not necessarily I can drink milk and go out into 100 degree weather or drink rotten milk, it just don't bother me at all

Why would you keep consuming off milk when you know its disgusting and unsanitary?

Doesn't it usually become solid by then if it's just sitting out? YDI for leaving milk out. Ick :(
