Today, I heard screaming coming from my neighbor's house. Since her husband has a history of abusing her, I called the cops. After they left with him in custody, she called to yell at me because they were "working things out" after "having a few drinks". FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Good samaritan
Today, I heard my downstairs neighbor being beaten by her husband. I anonymously called 911, hoping to help. She must've seen me giving the cops my statement because as soon as they left, she knocked on my door and punched me square in the face while screaming, "Mind your own business bitch!" FML
Today, I had to call the police to get my crazy stalker of a neighbor out of my house. When the police arrived, I found out that she was friends with the officer. FML
Nice neighborhood
Today, I awoke to the sound of my neighbors attacking my car with a baseball bat accusing me of calling the cops on them. I did call the cops on them, after they screamed at me last night, drunkenly, to call the cops for them because they thought they were being robbed. FML
Today, I heard my neighbors having a violent argument in their front yard. I listened in, and soon found out why the wife wasn't happy with her husband. Apparently, she had caught her husband peeking through my windows for the second time this month. FML
Thanks, neighbor
Today, my dad was drunk and angry, so I went to the neighbor's since I didn't know what to do. He was so nice and comforted me as I cried. Then his wife came home, called him a pedophile, beat me, and threw me out. FML
Today, I desperately needed to let off some steam at work, so I went outside and screamed obscenities at the top of my lungs, before heading back inside. The police then showed up to investigate complaints of a "raving lunatic" in the area. FML
Today, I punched a drunk woman who kept trying to force herself onto my husband. She turned out to be an off-duty cop. FML
Keep it down
Today, after my old downstairs neighbor, who would come upstairs to bang on my door and yell at me every time she heard a sound from me at all times of the day, had finally moved out, it became clear that my new downstairs neighbor gets drunk and yells at the TV in the early hours of the morning. FML
Dude, chill out
Today, my friend got a text showing his girlfriend cheating on him. Sounds like his FML, but he was at my house. He then worked his way through a bottle of my whisky and went into a drunken rage. He threw my furniture through windows, punched holes in the wall, and smashed stuff until I had to call the cops. FML
Through the wall
Today, I bumped into my next door neighbor. She said, "Not for nothing, but I heard you fighting with your boyfriend last night, you're pretty harsh on him." I don't have a boyfriend, I was just drunk and castigating myself. FML

Well at least most of them don't turn out this way.

They really did. I've been unfortunate enough to be in the house when my mom's ex went into a drunken rage and tried to beat the crap out of her. I had to get in the way and almost ended up with a broken nose, I'd hate to find out what would've happened if a neighbor didn't call the cops..

How do you know they were having sex?

I think a lot of victims of domestic violence end up in denial/trying to protect their abuser. Hopefully one day she'll be thankful and you know you did the right thing.

Stockholm syndrome is what that is. Becoming fond of your abuser/kidnapper.

That's exactly what it is. She is not likely to appreciate op's intervention, but then she likely thinks it's normal to wear long sleeves all summer and large sunglasses every time she's in public. Try talking to her in person op, you might get her to see a glimmer of the truth before he makes bail.

She probably won't accept OPs help because you guys are right. Even though everyone says to leave the relationship you want to try to save it all you can. And even guys can be the one getting abused in the relationship.

Appropriate time to Spartan Kick her in the freakin' face!

Or... to try and be a good friend to her and get her to realize how OP helped her in the end.

17- Agreed. Considering how she isn't learning from the abuse she's suffered from her husband, I don't see how she needs another kick from anyone. :p

When she wakes up sober and probably hurting from the domestic violence she'll realize you saved her. You did the right thing.

True character is doing the right thing even if everyone will hate you for it.

Good for you, OP. I bet it's quieter with the hubby in jail, no?

They're both idiots... Hopefully they don't have kids.
