Today, I had the lovely experience of witnessing a tow truck cause a couple thousand dollars' worth of damage to my broken-down car. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my car broke down. I pulled to the side of the road to call a tow truck. After waiting what seemed like hours, the tow truck showed up, and then ran into the back of my car. FML
Today, my car broke down on the highway, and I had to call for a tow truck. It finally showed up, only to break down too less than a mile later. Cue nearly freezing to death while we waited for help to arrive for the both of us. FML
Driving is expensive
Today, my car was towed. After taking a cab all the way to the lot for $45 and paying the $250 fee to get my car back, my car broke down in the impound lot and needed to be towed to the nearest shop, where it took another $200 to fix, and $50 for the towing. I still have a 3-hour drive home. FML
Today, I watched my car roll backwards on the freeway, while attached to the tow truck that I was sitting in. FML
Insurance is a scam
Today, my fiancée wrecked my car so I had to use my other car to pick her up. Ten minutes after I did, my other car broke down in the middle of the road and I had to get it towed. My insurance covers none of these incidents. FML
Today, I paid $2300 to a mechanic for fixing my car. It's also the day I got into an accident and totalled said car. FML
Today, I ran out of gas while driving, and had to call a tow truck. I drive a tow truck. FML
Have yourself a merry little Xmas
Today, on Christmas Eve, as I was getting my car loaded for the holiday rounds to the in-laws and parents, my car decided now was the time to break down. I recently put in over $1000 fixing it. FML
Today, I drove my truck into the garage for a couple of minor repairs. It was returned on a flatbed with a blown engine. FML
Thanks dad…
Today, my car broke down. My dad insisted he could fix it, but screwed up in the process. After finally getting the car towed to a mechanic, I was told that I'd only needed a new water pump, but thanks to the damage my dad did, fixing it all will cost me a small fortune. FML

Damn those toe truck drivers. Don't you hate it when they bump into a corner of a wall!?

I don't quite get why everyone jumps straight to "get a lawyer and sue their asses" in situations like this. If OP had said that the towing company was refusing to pay for the damages then sure. But to immediately jump straight to a costly lawsuit over <presumably> accidental property damage, without even talking to the company? Really?
