Insurance is a scam
Today, my fiancée wrecked my car so I had to use my other car to pick her up. Ten minutes after I did, my other car broke down in the middle of the road and I had to get it towed. My insurance covers none of these incidents. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my car broke down. I pulled to the side of the road to call a tow truck. After waiting what seemed like hours, the tow truck showed up, and then ran into the back of my car. FML
Today, my car broke down on the highway, and I had to call for a tow truck. It finally showed up, only to break down too less than a mile later. Cue nearly freezing to death while we waited for help to arrive for the both of us. FML
Today, my car broke down dead in the middle of the highway. As I was unable to get it out of the road, it was impounded, and my insurance won't help. Now I'm further in debt and struggling to get to work. FML
Today, my boyfriend wrecked our car. Now I can't get to work in order to make the money we need to buy a new one. FML
Today, I had the lovely experience of witnessing a tow truck cause a couple thousand dollars' worth of damage to my broken-down car. FML
Today, my girlfriend's dad let me borrow his car for transportation to work because mine got totaled. This car is a complete dump and I've realized he's only letting me use it so it's my fault to fix the broken things on the car. So far, I've had to replace the battery and two popped tires. FML
Today, my fiancé got impatient and passed a lady doing 15 mph under the speed limit. The lady was driving slowly in case the black ice in the other lane was in both. We spun out and drove right into a guard rail. I'd just filled the tank, so now I'm down $40 and need to pay for a rental too. FML
Today, my car was towed. After taking a cab all the way to the lot for $45 and paying the $250 fee to get my car back, my car broke down in the impound lot and needed to be towed to the nearest shop, where it took another $200 to fix, and $50 for the towing. I still have a 3-hour drive home. FML
Today, my dad was helping my fiancé and me move. On the way, someone sideswiped the trailer. When the police came, we found my dad had a suspended license, no insurance, and a broken tail light. No one else could drive a manual, so we were stuck in a parking lot for 3 hours. Thanks, dad. FML
Today, after my car got stolen and flipped on its roof three months ago, making it an insurance write-off, and getting a new car a week ago, a drunk driver crashed into my parked car, writing it off. In both instances the drivers were thankfully OK, it's just my insurance premiums skyrocketing, no biggie. FML

its more than likely because they don't carry full coverage on thier vehicle and if you don't have that insurance wont pay if you're at fault I learned that the hard way too

All the people with zero cars are sending you "thoughts and prayers."

Normally I'd agree, but one person's struggles in life isn't outweighed by another's. The fact that OPs other car broke down half shows these vehicles could both possibly be extremely old. And the fact that the collision isn't taken care of could be they can't afford anything above basic coverage. Everyone has different struggles. OP and fiance could have shit health, whereas the person with no car could be very healthy. Not everything is black and white.

If the accident your partner had wasn't covered even if you were driving, that sucks, but if it was because they were driving, welllll still sucks but more avoidable. Also i guess you didn't do any upkeep on the second car?

A majority of insurances don't have car break-down coverages. That's like extra, bonus, cherry on top coverages. The car being totaled, it should and usually is covered by your insurance under your collision coverage whether it was you or your fiancé. As long as he/she has a license, and you have the proper collision coverage, you're fine. If there's some shit loophole, your insurance company are buttholes. If you have bare bones insurance just to be able to drive, then that was your choice to pick and not be completely covered in an accident.
