Today, I had a mental breakdown after going through severe depression for several years. I told my boyfriend that everybody thinks I'm useless, to which he replied, "No you're not. You cook me good dinners." FML

Today, my boyfriend told me that he feels empty inside when I'm not in the kitchen. This is the most romantic thing he has said to me in the past two years. FML
Today, I had a mental breakdown. Many things have been going completely wrong in my life, and I finally decided to let my boyfriend know about it. After about an hour of explaining and pouring my heart out, his response was, "I think we were better off as friends." FML
Today, I told my boyfriend of nine months that depression runs in my family and I think the reason I've been flipping shit so much lately may be that I am depressed. Not five minutes later he decided a break would be "the best thing for us right now." FML
Today, I admitted to my boyfriend of three years that I have been suffering from depression for a while now. He took it as a good time to dump me. FML
Today, my boyfriend, who is supposed to protect me from murderers and rapists, had an emotional breakdown because he was so excited that I'd cooked french fries for dinner. FML
Today, my fiancé yelled at me after I got off the phone with my friends, because I said I hadn't felt this happy and hadn't laughed this much in a long time. He was also mad that I didn't cook him dinner. He didn't ask me to cook dinner for him. He then told me to go somewhere else if I'm not happy with him. FML
Today, I told to my girlfriend of 5 years that I'm depressed about having no friends, no job and a difficult family life. I told her that she's the one constant that keeps me going. She decided this was a good time to break up with me to "find" herself, since I was being so mopey. FML
Today, I was talking to my boyfriend, feeling pretty low. I said something along the lines of, "You like me even when I look like shit." He replied, "Ah, that's just how you naturally look." FML
Today, my boyfriend and I broke up. I said that at least I was always there for him when he needed me. He said "When did I need you?" FML
Today, my boyfriend called and asked me why I love him. I told him because he's always there for me and continues to put up with my bipolar disorder. He promptly said "not anymore" and hung up. FML

I made an account just to comment on this. Look, I don't know what your history of depression is, OP, what your life's story is, or whether you've been officially diagnosed with depression or not. But here's the thing: your boyfriend was clearly trying to cheer you up, whether he was making a light-hearted joke (something my boyfriend does all the time) or he was honestly complimenting your cooking (which is wonderful for you since I can't cook to save my life!) I was sexually abused as a young child and never talked about it until I was 18. I was diagnosed with severe depression and attempted suicide when I was 14. But you know what I didn't do? I didn't post something on FML - a place where people are known to be total asses - with a user name "suicidal" and expect sympathy. If you seriously are that bad off, GET HELP. Y'know, in real life. Not on the internet. And definitely not on FML! It sounds like you have a pretty good boyfriend who was trying to make the best of things. If you've truly been suffering with depression and he's still with you through all of this, he OBVIOUSLY cares about you! God knows what I've put my boyfriend through over the years, but as he says, the mere fact that he's still with me shows he really cares. If your boyfriend loves you then you must be good for something - it's called love. All in all, get some help. Go to therapy. Try some medicines if the doctors think it will help. Just don't post this stuff on FML. Not a good idea. I hope things get better for you, sweetheart. Good luck.

I'd say that sucks if your boyfriend was also your therapist. It's not his job to fix your problems, at least he was nice to you.
