Today, I went to move an intimate, very NSFW Word document to a secure folder on my phone. Instead, I accidentally sent it to a printer somewhere in my office building at work. I don't know which of my 40 coworkers or managers has it on their printer for when they arrive tomorrow morning. FML

Today, I emailed a bunch of documents to a potential client, only to later realise later I'd also emailed them a folder of mine and my husband's very intimate photos. There’s things in there we only do when I’m very drunk, and am very embarrassed by. I’ve been ducking my bosses calls for two hours. FML
Today, I was frustrated at work so to have fun, I wrote an email to myself saying that I was great and loved myself and should relax. I used all different colors and fonts. Instead of hitting "delete", I hit "print" without realizing. My manager got it out of the printer and put it on my desk. FML

Today, I accidentally sent highly confidential patient records to a fired employee. This employee made the biggest song and dance about it, calling every boss possible. I couldn't have sent it to a better person. FML
Today, I received a package labeled “Confidential.” Excited, I opened it in front of my coworkers, thinking it was a PR gift. It was the new toilet seat I'd mistakenly sent to my work address instead of my house. FML

Today, while I was at work, my wife sent me a few pictures of her in a new lingerie, to "spice up" my day. She didn't realize that I have iCloud turned on so I can share files with my colleagues. My boss and a dozen other employees received the same pictures. FML
Today, after leaving my workplace, I realized that I forgot some important work papers. When I went back to get them, I was faced with the sight of my boss and a coworker getting it on against my desk. FML

I have no idea how you can print something instead of copying it but just print a ton of boring other stuff and hope people just hand you the entire pile of paper.

I don’t know how you printed the document on a printer and you don’t know where that printer is. But unless is has your name on the doc or anything that can lead back to you just let it go and pretend it didn’t happen. And if someone ask you if it your just play dumb. Or print a page to that same printer saying I accidentally printed to this printer please throw away previously printed document.

I feel like the level of whoopsie like this would be akin to tripping at the entrance to the building and falling to the roof. The only way this makes sense is if your accidental was you going on autopilot and telling it to print instead of copy. So on some level this is you not paying proper attention.

This is why you should never, ever use your work phone for personal business, nor your personal phone for work business. If work needs you to have a phone, they should provide one. If you need a personal phone, you should provide one. If that means you carry two phones, so be it... you won't be ending up on FML.

or OP could try printing another document and see where it tries to send the document, and with the printer name, they have a better chance of finding which one it is. they can even ask someone where said printer is...
