Today, I had a big party planned. All but one of the guests cancelled. See you at 7, mom. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Social distancing
Today, we celebrated our daughter's sixth birthday. Out of the 30 invited, 7 showed up. The last one to cancel this morning told us she was ill. My daughter was in tears as this meant the last remaining playmate couldn't come. My wife later saw her tagged on Facebook at another party. FML
Today, all of my friends bailed from the birthday party I was throwing myself. This was also after they had encouraged me for months to have one, knowing I'd never had my birthday celebrated before. FML
She noped out of that one
Today, I'd planned a surprise party for my best friend's birthday. However, she apparently found out about it and told me at the last minute she couldn't make it, probably to avoid being the center of attention. I'd already invited all of our mutual friends, so I had to awkwardly cancel the party. FML
Thanks everyone
Today, I'd organized a small dinner with immediate family for my birthday. I’ve since received texts from every one of them, cancelling due to varying reasons. My parents excuse is the funniest - they went out last night for a coworker’s party, and don’t want to go out again tonight. For me. Their child. FML
Family love
Today, I'd arranged a family reunion to see family I hadn't seen in years. Out of about 20 people, only 3 said they would come. One messaged to cancel the night before. The other two no-showed. FML
Today, everyone at work was demanding I stage a party at my house. I agreed to it and rushed home to tidy up before the guests arrived. No one showed up. FML
Today, I was uninvited from my own birthday party. FML
Today, I was invited to a party. Since I rarely get invited to any, I was super pumped. Both my parents work late, so I texted a couple of people to see if I could catch a ride. It turned out everyone's cars were full. I ended up missing one of the only parties I've ever been invited to. FML
Today, I was invited to a birthday dinner at a restaurant. As I was leaving, I get a text from the birthday girl's boyfriend saying that it was cancelled. Hungry, I decided to go to that particular restaurant anyway. Turns out the party wasn't cancelled. Half the party just didn't want me there. FML
Party time!
Today, I'm having my housewarming party and had prepared food, drink, and games for all the 19 confirmed guests on Facebook. I waited till 11, but nobody showed up. I checked Facebook again and realized I had accidentally put tomorrow as the party date. I have to work the whole day tomorrow. FML

To your mom, it's still a big party.

Make the most of it, OP! Rent Magic Mike, put on your jammies and eat that big meal you prepared on the couch with your mom. Make it the best girls night ever.

#13, you are guessing the OP is female and you are getting thumbed up, but I guessed it was a guy and that seems to be headed to the comment cemetery (sematary?) Are you psychic?

My guess is female too. Most grown men don't throw big parties and I'm wondering if this is one of those Tupperware parties. In which case I think I need to wash my hair that night. Whatever night it's on.

I'm sure all those thumbs up were for Magic Mike.

Oh, there are all kinds of party. Getting many people to come and watch the football on television can be considered a party too! ;)

I don't see how you deserved this....

Sorry OP, I guess you can't compete with a new King. The partying for the last Queen's Day on April 30 starts tonight.

It sucks that she is the only one who is coming but that doesn't mean the day is ruined. You should get some popcorn, a movie, and make the most of it. It is obvious your mom cares for you. I think that the moments you share with her will probably be more memorable than any giant party. People may thumb me down for this but that's what I think.

But really what kind of (I'm assuming) teen/young adult's party starts at 7?

A dinner party, possibly?

I'm really sorry OP. At least your mom was there for you. Some OP's moms are jerks on this.

It would've been worse had the other guests not informed you and simply not showed up! Hope you spent some quality time with your mom (:
