Today, I got yelled at by a man for not opening my store 10-15 minutes before the scheduled opening time, which made his 84-year-old wife shit her pants waiting to get in. It didn't matter when I explained I had no way to know she needed to use the restroom. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, a woman yelled at me for holding a door open for her. FML
Confused
Today, a would-be customer practically kicked my store door in, then got pissed and started throwing around insults after I told him that we were still closed, hence the closed sign. He claimed the sign was "confusing". FML
Badass
Today, someone tried to open the stall I was in, and I instinctively screamed. I was yelled at and called, "incredibly rude and disrespectful." The lady then waited for me to come out so she could, "kick my ass." FML
Sorry!
Today, I had to stop at a gas station to go to the bathroom. A sign on the door told people to knock since the door didn't lock. As I was peeing, a lady walked in on me. Rather than simply saying sorry and shutting the damn door, she opened it wider and stepped in to apologize. FML
Today, for the first time in a week, a customer entered my store. He needed to use the bathroom. FML
Don't let the bedbugs bite!
Today, my supervisor locked me in the women's bathroom as I was cleaning it. I heard the owner scolding him, so I waited for the door to open, thinking he got in trouble. It wasn't until I heard the front gate locking that I realized I'm staying the night in the bathroom. FML
Today, I got yelled at for providing horrible customer service, in a store I don't even work for. FML
Today, my manager cussed me out for being unable to keep a customer happy. That "customer" was a senile old twit who had wandered away from his carer, thought our shop was his living room, and demanded to know who replaced all his furniture. FML
On the can
Today, I was using the bathroom at Costco when a janitor forced my door open so she could mop, then didn't bother to close it again. Apparently, the handicapped stall was too big for her to see me sitting in the corner, and I had to awkwardly squat-walk all the way to the door to close it. FML
Nature called
Today, I yelled at one of my employees for trying to discreetly slip out of a meeting, and demanded he sit up front so I could make sure he stayed for the whole time. Three minutes later, he shat his pants. FML

I think we all know what kind of situation this is.

In the time they spent standing outside your shop, they probably could have found a bathroom. Not your fault, especially since you didn't know and you weren't supposed to be open anyway. I do feel bad for the lady though.

It's a bad one of course! (Notice how I avoided it and take it sarcastically)

So you were supposed to open just so she could shit herself in your store instead? Maybe she should've gone before leaving her house.

She probably even was. Or at least tried. When you are that old, digestion problems can be a real pain in the ass.

Agreed! My 84-year old father has many health problems. It's in many ways like dealing with a little kid. Make sure they have their hat and mittens, their fly is zipped and they used the toilet before you leave the house.

When you are old and you really gotta go, there is no excuse.

I feel bad for the old lady, grannies often can't hold it and every bathroom break ends up being a desperate race to the porcelain. But like you said, you had no way to know she needed to go. And even if you did, many stores have really strict policies against having non-employees in the building outside of normal operating hours. Especially if you are part of a big corporate chain of stores, you can actually be fired for opening early. So I get why the old man was frustrated, but FYL because you didn't deserve to have that taken out on you.

Uhhhhh. When you have trouble holding it you get a thicker skin for going behind some bushes. Her husband was right there to keep watch. If its someplace without said bushes, then the chance of another store being open somewhere else increases.

Its a bad situation all the way around but you had no way to know and don't carry the fault here.

Something here smells a little off. I wouldn't trust the man OP, but rather the wife. We know she isn't full of shit.
